Coming from the Ag side on this one, they pretty much thought defensive guys were coming to LSU because of Chavis, not because we're LSU or the other assistant coaches like Raymond. This kind of stuff is just showing them Chavis had little to nothing to do with kids actually coming here, he just utilized what the other coaches got him well.

Just look at the attendance list for the Bayou Picnic this weekend..and I'm expecting our elite camp to be even better than that.

Reading the aTm 247 thread on Eric Monroe was so classic. They are completely jumping off ship and pissed at the staff. A lot of them are calling for Sumlin to be fired if he doesn't win 10 games this year. It's glorious.

It also seems they're just figuring out that Saban plays by different rules than everyone else. They're really pissed about the Derrick Griffin thing.

I honestly hope that aTm has "close to good years" every few years to keep their hopes high, but then just never accomplish a thing. Their melts are epic and I love the taste of their tears.
I can't wait for them to come to Baton Rouge. They will lose and I will steal on of their girls for the night, buy her a steak dinner and never call her back.

From the very beginning it was like that with Chavis. It was widely understood he was attracted to the LSU job because of our ability to bring in the talent. It was no secret that he wasn't an enthusiastic recruiter and you never heard his name come up when recruits were praising LSU. If the aggies thought that he was a major factor, they are just delusional.

This is what amazes me the most. They are actually surprised that Bama's compliance department is welcoming to a kid and theirs is hesitant. Welcome to the SEC.

Kid was wearing LSU stuff at every camp he went to it seemed. I don't think stuff like that is by chance

I really want Monroe here. He is possibly the best coverage safety in this class (haven't watched Brandon Jones yet). With Voorhies to LB, Mills leaving, the possibility of Jefferson leaving, and Adams as a definite 3 and done player who will be gone the very next year, we need safeties. We are in on the top three.

Yeah but the way he said it, it sounds like he thought they would have gotten a "Chavis effect" and the recruits would be flocking there. Hasn't happened for Auburn with Muschamp either.

I've been trying to tell Aggies the worst thing they could have ever done was higher Chavis. Not because we would get better coaching if he left, but better recruiting.
