Franks commitment in baseball

Could Franks have signed with the other early signees for baseball and that would guarantee him being at LSU for baseball and football? If so why wouldnt the coaches have tried to get him to sign for baseball?

No news is good news. It would have been nice to hear Franks come out and say something although he has in the pass pledged his commitment to LSU.

If he plays football, it has to be on Football scholarship, not baseball. But he could still play baseball. Bear Bryant rule.

I hope he is enjoying the process. Seems like he has been very silent until recently.

How did the Jared Foster situation work?

Was he a walk-on in baseball as well?

Do you really think the baseball program would waste one of it's 11.7 full scholarships for the football program that can offer full scholarships 4 deep on the depth chart?

.....and for a kid that isn't even going to play baseball at that?

But he didn't have any kind of athletic scholarship at all? Is that correct?

I'm pretty sure Foster walked on the football team, not sure if he was on scholly for baseball.

You cant do that anyway. If you play football your scholly counts against football, period.

He's not signing a baseball schollie.
Chris Reid signed a baseball schollie and will walk on to football team next year to try and win punting job.

I want to say if you sign baseball you would have to play that sport first before playing any other sport or at a minimum I doubt LSU coaches would want him playing football before baseball signing that type of deal.

Foster was football walk on and Laird was football walk on as well until LSU offered once someone backed out for baseball

Once Foster got baseball opportunity he quit football to focus on baseball full time

Has Franks ever said to either the media or recruiting services that he won't play baseball in college?

Just asking--might have missed it if it were on the Rant previously.

If he wants to make big money in NFL, he'll let Coach Cam finish him as a jeweler polishes a diamond !

My impression is that Franks is a big fan of Cameron. I was concerned by seeing a quote by one of Frank's his high school teammates said he's really feeling Florida strongly as of like a few days ago.I still think he's just trying to appease the home state crowd. He is Solid to us I believe

I really don't know anything about Franks' situation. I can tell you that I was in PM's office the day after Zach Lee signed with the Dodgers and he told me wasn't all that upset because he didn't think he would ever get Lee on the diamond. Unlike other athletes that play baseball and football, QB's really can't afford to any miss spring practice. Who do you think would win a tug of war between the head football coach and the baseball coach?

Perfect QB for a Cam Cameron offense. Been saying that since he committed.
