247 - Shea Dixon update
He does it all!

Despite a the Crystal Ball favoring Alabama heavily over Auburn, LSU is trying to reel in Montgomery's Lyndell Wilson, who visited Baton Rouge this offseason and continues to stay in contact with the staff. Following LSU's win over Syracuse on Saturday night, Wilson spent Sunday morning catching up with Fournette.
He does it all!

Guy is a gift. Props to his family for raising a great man.

For years to come, we will look back in awe at the privilege of watching this kid play at LSU

I might be the only one, but I like the way Wilson talks about LSU. Everything he's said so far leads me to believe LSU is in the thick of it.
I think we seal the deal with him.

Buga- you have any extra info on this, this would be huge to get Wilson.

Him and Ben Davis love the idea of being able to step in and be a starter at LSU.

Are you just saying this, or do you know something from someone close to the team

I don't know shite, but what I glean from articles. The last article I read (and I'm paraphrasing) he said that he is going to go to a place where he can step on the field immediately, and he said he is trying to show coaches that he will do everything he has to to prepare himself for a starting role.
Reading into it, it sounds like our coaches are using Ardey Key as an example of how, if you put in work, you will see the field.
It's amazing what Miles is doing in recruiting. He is recruiting the right kids to come in immediately and play with the maturity of seniors as freshmen and sophomores.
To me, it seems like Wilson is in that mold. A guy who is very self-assured and knows what he wants, like Fournette, Adams, Guice, Harris, Godchaux. You name em.
I think we are doing something very unique. We are branding ourselves as an NFL factory where we will give you the tools to not only make it to the NFL, but to have a long career as well.
Bringing in Oregeron and Cameron were two hires that give evidence to that.
Anyways, I'm reading way in between the lines, but Wilson is that type of guy who wants to perfect his game, make it to the NFL, and become a gridiron legend.

Solid analysis and everyone has assumed him and Davis are Bama locks. I also heard AU for Wilson but AU is a sinking ship. They could offer early playing time though and are very close to home. I've said all along that we aren't getting one of these Bama LBers, but if we do, look out.

I got that impression as well.

AU can definitely offer early playing time, but hopefully our ability to be in the championship picture next year will be more of an incentive.
Our only question mark next year will be Linebacker.
Defense:
DL - It looks like everyone will be back next year. Add in some stud recruits and watch out!
DB - Will be losing great guys, White, Mills, and maybe Jefferson. But we reload, so it's aight.
Offense:
I think all of our skill guys come back. At this pace, I doubt Dural will have the stats to make him a high pick, but he may leave anyway.
OL - We lose our two tackles. I think Pocic slides outside. Teuhema, Clapp, Malone, Boutte, Brumfield. While it'll be a downgrade, we should still be great here.
LB is our only deficiency next year and if we can add a real elite talent (which we might already have in Fowler and Thornton), we'll be right there next year.
I think kids who are really focused on getting to the NFL realize that they'll be leaving home sooner or later, but who knows.
Anyways, Wilson is physically college-ready and he seems like he has a great head on his shoulders. Would love to steal him from the Gumps.

It's hard to get excited about Bama linebackers. It's like trying to take Louisiana DB's from LSU.

Kwon tore his acl and we kept going after him. Different circumstance.

Thanks for the education. In all seriousness.

Wasn't kwon like 200 pounds in highschool? Bama goes after the big 3-4 LB, kwon was ideal for chavis' system

I know this and their relationship with Steele helps since he was recruiting them while he was at Bama
