I wonder if LF has watched any Baltimore games when CC was OC. The whole game plan revolved around ray rice, even to the point it cost CC his job. And I think we all know how CLM loves big durable backs. If he doesn't sign with us, he will missed the chance of a lifetime, and maybe the same could be said for LSU .

I thought CC lost his job because he refuse to run the ball more?

actually he probably didn't give Rice the ball enough. He used the shite out of LaDanian Tomlinson though.

Way to start a thread that gives Bama lurkers ammunition.

It is beyond me that fans think threads like this will some how motivate recruits into signing .

If Les and company can't persuade them, there's no chance some random fan can.

you can thank Flacco for that. He wanted to throw the ball more.

It was a known thing (read a lot in fantasy) that Flacco bitched the whole offseason about wanting to throw the ball more, and take offense more into his hands

Someone posted on TD back then that after Cam left the Ravens, Rice averaged 1 carry more per game.

I assumed it was accurate.

That is accurate.

Some people said that CC firing was more of a wake up call for the team. I believe that the yards per game only went up about 40 yards.

Cam Cameron can't be described as a run first, or throw first guy imo. If you look at his career he started off as a QB coach at Michigan. His first job was coaching John Harbaugh, who became the first Michigan QB in decades to make it in the NFL. He also coached Elvis Grbac at Michigan, another NFL starter. When he was at Washington (NFL) he coached Heath Shuler (fail) and Gus Frerotte (good considering his ceiling) at QB and Stephen Davis at RB, a better running than passing team. At San Diego he coached both Drew Brees and Phillip Rivers at QB, and LaDainian Tomlinson Darren Sproles and Michael Turner at RB. Very balanced. At Baltimore he ran the Joe Flacco and Ray Rice show for years as they transitioned from a D first team to a great offensive team.

The fact is, everywhere Cameron has been, from his first job to his last, college and pro he has been able to consistently recruit/draft great QB and RB talent, mentor young QB's into productive vets, and built great offenses with stacked lines, depth at RB, good to excellent receiving/TE corps, and lots of production from both running and passing game.

Cameron is a complete package guy, and the first coach in a very, very long time at LSU with legit QB development skills. I think he's a great fit for any Offensive player regardless of position who wants to play in the NFL.

that firing had everything to do with Cameron and Harbaugh hating each other.

Cam and Harbaugj are great friends. You have absolutely no idea what you are talking about. None.

He has definitely had success with running and passing. He used LaDamian Tomlinson brilliantly in San Diego, and he helped Drew Brees immensely among others; in Baltimore, he helped Flacco develop into a highly regarded QB as much as he helped Ray Rice.

The complaints about Cameron not using Rice enough stemmed from losses where play calling was second guessed. For as much of a big deal was made of this-- and used as some as justification for why he was let go-- Rice averaged one more carry per game after Cameron left (as someone else noted).

Cameron did have at least one very public fight with Harbaugh, which likely diminished his chances of being retained once that possibility got a little steam, but I'm pretty sure it was the Ravens organization wanting to appease Flacco that was the greater catalyst. Ironically, it was Cameron's tutelage that really helped Flacco excel. It would be purely guesswork (for me anyway) to suggest Flacco was a prima donna or Cameron became inflexible and didn't listen to Flacco, etc. The broad sentiment Harbaugh expressed when he let Cameron go was that the team needed to be shaken up in some way.

Regardless of the politics that drove that situation-- Cameron is a hell of an offensive coordinator who has had a lot of success. And I look forward to seeing the direction the offense takes this season.

OP pay no mind to the assholes on this board. Info is great but if you are not in the clique you will be called stupid for starting legit threads...
