Marcus Dupree was the most pure RB prospect in the nation out of high school in the last century. Everyone named is this thread he blew out of the water. He was absolutely sick for his size. Wish he could have played in the NFL.

He is the second coming of Cecil the Diesel, but is a more well-rounded and classier individual.

LF is better than Rueben, Perriloux and McKnight. Coming out of high school you could make an argument for Doucet but LF is the best in a while.

All in all though he's not the best prospect to ever come out of Louisiana. The answer is....

Peyton Manning, bar none

RP was better than all of those guys. DId you seem them all play?

He was the best passing QB in South LA since the Mannings, and was equally as impressive running the ball. All while doing it in the states highest level, in what was probably the toughest district in the state at that time.

Fournette--The most highly touted to ever come out of Louisiana?
I was just going to add mine (mostly rbs): Warrick Dunn, Marshall Faulk, Joe McNight, Cecil Collins, and QB Ryan Perilloux..

Marshall was not highly touted... Not by a long shot...

#5 is the best RB since Collins.... He is a better RB than colli s was as a JR....

Faulk played qb...so not really a fair position comparison

Warrick Dunn

While an unbelievable football player at all three levels, he was not a highly touted RB recruit.

He was recruited as CB and had to beg Bobby Bowden to give him a shot at RB his freshman year in fall camp after the first three RB's went down with injuries.

Manning paled in comparison to Josh Booty in high school. Not even close honestly. Obviously, Peyton turned out to be much better. In high school though, Booty by a mile.

His senior year in HS, but he was recruited as CB.

That's just not accurate. He was fighting for starting time his freshman year with Rock Preston at RB and never had to beg Bowden for time. He was never recruited as a CB over RB with any of the schools he talked to. He was a QB in HS just so he could touch the ball every play and if he didn't pitch it to Franklin he ran it.
