Seems to have great touch on his passes but does it seem like he puts way to much air under the ball to anyone else? I know Cam will work with him if that is an issue but just seems like this gives the db's at the college level time to adjust and get help over on balls thrown with that much air.

That's the only big problem I see also. I remember people getting at me when I said Mett was throwing weather balloons in the 2011 spring game when everybody thought he was incredible. The next year, he overthrew the majority of his deep passes by 5 yards. One year later after Cam, he would throw either right on the money, or a little too short. I like that this is only his sophmore tape. Even as a junior, this is good high school tape. He might be the #1 QB in 2016 when it's all said and done. Athletic, big arm, pro size, plays good competition, already right at the top fifty. Guy will be a 5 star QB.

better get more snap in that delivery...SEC DE's and CB's will drool on that telepathy.

The kid looks really good for a 15 y/o. Short to medium passes were fairly crisp, but he got the nose of the ball up and aired it out on longer passes. His throwing motion, well you can tell he plays baseball as well. The coaches will get his delivery higher at the start and make it tighter. Like I said, for his age, he is polished. Really high ceiling, great pickup.

Kid looks good. I didn't see much of him running though. I am assuming #81, Jordan Franks, is his brother. That kid can catch. He is big too. I wonder if he has potential to play D1 ball?

I'm hoping Deuce Wallace is the other qb taken in that class. That kid can really play.

Michigan just offered shea Patterson. we ain't getting him, he will gets lots of offers. we need to take a qb that can play another position like belton or veal and not another transfer like rettig.

Anyone know if LSU has ever had a QB commit this early?

Wow.

I haven't been keeping up with recruiting that much, but my thought was--this early of a commitment could be very beneficial in terms of Franks getting familiar with the offense that he will be running at LSU, being in communication with his future coaches, understanding terminology, etc.

To me, it seems strange to take a commitment from an eighth grader, but I guess recruiting is trending toward earlier commitments.

Recruiting is a brutal, 365 day job for the top tiered powers. Early offers are no longer the exception and will actually expand.
