I think that something people are missing is how loaded we are for the future at O line the way we are now. CR would be a huge get for us no doubt but with Pocic, Clapp, Brumfield, Collins, Turner, Alexander, etc we have an exceptional amount of talent here or coming soon.

Same here. Though I don't think he's the Bama lock some posters think, he's a heavy lean to the Gumps. Don't you think if he had silently committed to Saban that our coaching staff would have found out if some dude on BamaOnline did and we would no longer recruit them?

We have converted tackles and tight ends. The rest are 3 stars and middle 4 star type players.

we did that under saban as well. Plus, oline is one of the hardest positions to project. In fact, most olinemen were never rated very highly until the nfl became a qbs league and the oline became more important and are usually some of the first off the board.

Reid Ferguson 2* but the #1 rated long snapper in the country
jerald Hawkins 3*

I dont know what rankings bama players have had, but if they are better, then Stud and Miles have done more with less talented players.

Also if you notice, the 3* guys and the guys that switched positions have been our best olinemen, Minus Faulk. Obviously some of the younger guys havent played and 2013 class has some good ones in it as well.

Oline is hard to judge, i give them a pass for 06 because they just needed bodies from the shitty recruiting saban did in 03 and 05 for the oline.

Add to that what could be waiting in the wings in 2015 too...if CR does go to Bama I won't lose an ounce of sleep. We'll be just fine with or without him.

I'm kind of with you on this one. True Whit was recruited and played under Saban for 4 years, but he hates Saban. I know for a fact that if Saban had returned to LSU instead of going to Miami Whit would have gone pro after his junior year just to get away from Saban. He can't stand the guy.

When Miles first came to LSU I think it was his second Year....not sure. Anyway, there was a charity golf tournament in shreveport, I happened to be there. Whit was already at Cincy but he and Miles looked like friends to me as I observed them in the lobby of the hotel.

I know CSB but it fits with what the snatch says ...sort of

This is laughable. You are losing perspective and need a dose of reality. Traitor to Louisiana? None of these kids owe LA anything. They should do what's best for them. There are people with real problems in the world. LSU losing a recruit doesn't qualify as a big deal in the grand scheme of things.

Another thing I try to point out. Who wants to live with Saban in their face for 4-5 years?

You're not being fair with that list. The top 2 guys in 07 never took a snap and left/kicked off the team. After the horrible attrition we saw, we are finally back to normal and out oline will be as good as bamas this year. Alexander/Collins/turner are straight beast.

Idk about as good, but LSU overall is talented enough to beat Bama every single year. Our d-line recruiting can compensate for their O-line.

But lets be real Bama has probably had the best offensive line talent in the nation the last 3-4 years.

If CRob goes to Bama who can blame him, there are lots of positives of going to Bama, if he goes to LSU then great, plenty of positives there.

As people who watch college football intently and follow recruiting you always hope that these kids make the right decision for the right reasons. As long as CRob does that, then he's blameless in my mind.

As for the person who calls him a "traitor", you're out of your mind. The kid plays football, its not WWII jackass.

They lost a large chunk of their O line and are replacing it with inexperience and a new coach.

While our O line averages about 10 starts per person with backups who have been in the system for 2-3 years and plenty of depth.

Three of our best o linemen last year were starting for their first time ever. On top of that we probably had the best o line class in the country last year.

While they have to adjust to a new coach with a mediocre o line coaching career.

Stud moves back to o line full time and Miles is there for added support. Cameron taking over the offense gives Miles and Stud much more time to work on the O line.

Bama will still do well this year, but we'll have one of the best offensive lines in the country. With starters and depth

During this run of top notch line play, has UA had the same OL coach?

Compare Cristobal's experience coaching o linemen to Pendry/Stoutland

You're an idiot if you think Cristobal is even in the same stratosphere.

He was hired because he's a great recruiter. Never has he been considered an elite o line coach. While Pendry and Stoutland had plenty of success before alabama.

During his whole coaching career he hasn't gotten a single offensive linemen drafted in the NFL.

He's probably going to BAMA and its hard to blame the kid. If you take the P&G glasses off and realize Les Miles' OL "specialty" really isn't that special...When you compare the OL drafted from BAMA vs LSU its not really a contest. I don't even know if Les has had one drafted. Monroe is not that much farther away from Tuscaloosa compared to BR also.

You should be given a vacation from this board...I'm sure the Bama chat would love you.
