Sure they read these overreacting posts... Do you guys really think a recruit gives a damn how a poster on TD reacts?

Recruits don't belong to the instate school, so quit acting like he's property of LSU. It's embarrassing to read this shite.

But anyway.

So much mad for posting objective fact.
eta. All I'm saying is if he went to BAMA it wouldn't be something that would be completely shocking and dumb on the kids part. If he came to LSU, he would be making a great decision also. Just saying I don't blame the kid if he thinks BAMA is the best decision for him. Recruitards need to grow the frick up when it comes to shite like this.

Im actually going to side with the BAMA side on this recruitment.

This is the biggest pussified pre-meltdown I've ever seen on this board.

How's that for impressed????

Compare Cristobal's experience coaching o linemen to Pendry/Stoutland

Pendry was an NFL washout (David Carr's rookie season with the Texans) and Stout was a washout from a pretty terrible Miami program (OL coach from 07 - 10, then interim HC after sanctions). Cristobal's track record coming in is vastly different, he was/is a hotshot HC who was fired for flirting with better programs, but he was a winner and has a track record of great OL coaching

quote:

You're an idiot if you think Cristobal is even in the same stratosphere.

OK When Pendry was hired you know how bad that hire looked? It wasn't till after his career as a great OL coach under Saban that he was perceived as a great OL coach and same with Stout, who just got an NFL job, we won't have Mario for long I understand that, but he will be just fine

quote:

He was hired because he's a great recruiter. Never has he been considered an elite o line coach. While Pendry and Stoutland had plenty of success before alabama.

See above

quote:

During his whole coaching career he hasn't gotten a single offensive linemen drafted in the NFL.

He coached Kevin Everett, Buck Ortega and Greg Olsen all drafted

And he then coached at FIU, had several guys drafted

Bama will be fine

Ortega and Olsen are TE's. I guess you could consider them Offensive Linemen.
He'll be okay. It's not difficult to teach grappling at the LOS when you know it rarely, if ever, gets called in this League on his team.

Yes I know he coached TEs

And you right best holders in the country

I really think Pocic and Clapp will help LSU forget about CR a good bit, the best group of OTs Miles has signed so far fwiw

all the while, the first spring practice Pocic ever attends, they have him at C.

Put them in one spot and leave them. I understand versatility, but geez.

We hate everything about bama and the fact that the best O-lineman in the country, who is from la, is probably gonna go there will not sit well.

I get that. What don't get is how some people here feel he is being conned, tricked or forced to go to Alabama as if Alabama doesn't have anything to offer any young NFL aspiring player.

It is like they feel that all the best LA players must play for LSU. If they don't, they are being tricked or forced by handlers to play elsewhere. Then they'll turn around and demand the best players from another state (Example: Tony Brown) to leave their state and come to their University.

Just doesn't make sense on any level.

That's just stupid. If the kid can give you quality snaps at a position of need, why not put him there? The tackle spots are taken for the foreseeable future and instead of letting Pocic rot on the bench the coaches are getting him on the field.

Didnt know that...maybe they hope to get him to become a leader and learn the OL calls by putting him at C

Also might be just a depth issue too and he is versatile, but seemed like an OT to me

But wasn't that just because they needed a body there in the spring with Porter hurt? Once Dodd and Malone get on campus, won't they get the reps as back up C?

What some of you Gumps fail to comprehend is that it's about Saban establishing connections in LA while at LSU and now using them to lure kids to Bama.Hearing some of those ties will be severed.

It's crazy how much less the meltdown would be if it was anybody but Bama in for CR

Right has nothing to do with back 2 back, 3 out of 4 or 4 OL drafted last draft

Look FT you need to realize that LSU will get a large majority of the La talent every yr (as long as they offer) but every now and then a school will land a prospect, Bama is a close school with a phenomenal recruiting staff, does this mean anyone is cheating etc? No

It is extremely hard for a big time 5 star prospect to be an all out war in most cases and this is what you are seeing

Crazy will be this board if/when CR selects LSU....it would be a bigger "get" for TigerNation than gumps.
