Agreed. The longer he waits the less likely it's A&M IMO, unless Bama decides to move on.

Hasn't been a good weekend for football recruiting for Ags. But, ita been the best weekend ever in basketball recruiting for us. So, its ok

Memphis. I respect your opinion but I have no hope for DD in state. I'm also no insider. Jmo. Some say his best position at next level is DE in a traditional 4-3 but he seems set on playing Jack LB in college.

I agree. There's no doubt NS wants Jenkins. If that happens DD may just pick a&m. Also I read DD will be looking at the depth chart. Ags should have the advantage there.

He is not coming to LSU, period. And no, this is nothing like Rasco before someone says it. Devall has given no indication lately he even cares about LSU.

We're likely just going to have to live with the fact we will lose two of the top five recruits in LA this year...

I agree that it sucks but you could argue for the next 5 in state to be considered top 5. I in no way am devaluing Phillips or Devall; just saying Bourque, Louis, Feist, etc can stack up. Theres only one player in state that is truly elite and hes at dutchtown. I am less concerned with losing Devall since we have 3 LB commits already that are top 250. it would be nice if DD would commit to play MLB at lsu or his natural DE position but he wants to be Von Miller.

All in all if Lsu pulls LC then we lose 2 players of the top 15 or so we coveted. That's not bad..

I don't mind so much losing great player from La. as long as they were not really a great fit or a great need. We have filled the need already. Maybe some other year or even most other years we would have been all over him recruiting wise. But we are stacked at DE and LB right now.

Incorrect. We wanted his dad and he turned us down. He didn't want to influence J-Mych. After J-Mych committed his dad accepted a job to our staff. But we also picked up a top 30 player in the nation for 2013 from Chicago today. And his teammate is Jabari Parker, a top 5 player in the nation whose dad is an Aggie. Also #1 player in nation Shabazz is making A&M one of his 5 official visits. A&M hoops has taken a step forward in talent big time

And on topic, Devall is taking all 5 officials. Not committing anytime soon and has Bama/A&M co-favorites according to multiple sites

Is Lsu getting one of the officials? If so, could be a game changer. Anyway, good info. Thanks Big Kat.

The stories from the Ag side aren't up yet. Mike Coppage has his up at Scout but it's pay for info and I'm not a national scout subscriber. Although I'm a big Coppage fan.

And an official to LSU could be a huge game changer. I can't imagine one wouldn't be if not for any reason than to please friends/family.

Schools that have been in contest so far are TCU, Bama, a&M, LSU and Arkansas. That's 5. But he's been to all those schools already so I dunno

Also Kennedy says he really wants Marcus Smart but with Phil Forte getting an offer from Kansas, both are likely headed there

Marcus Stewart spent this weekend in College Station and reportedly loved it. He hung with J-Mych for the weekend. So, fingers crossed

Our old staff wouldn't associate with AAU circles. Our current staff has two AAU guys on it. Amazing what a difference that makes. Cyprien is proving to be a stud and Coach Reese hasn't started yet

You mean Smart right? It's going to take a lot with Phil getting his offer from Kansas. Phil's dad went to Kansas so that's basically Phil's dream offer and him and Marcus are really close.

My younger brother goes to the same high school and has played with Phil since like 5th grade, he dropped basketball though to play baseball. He still hangs out with Phil and Marcus when they aren't in the gym. It's incredible how much time those two spend in the gym hearing the stories my brother tells about them

Yeah, that's what I meant Geaux. Sorry about that. That's good to hear. Marcus was thought of as not realistic before this weekend. Now it's more considered a slight long shot.

These basketball players aren't like football players. They don't mind going across country to play ball

I know you're joking but Phil's dad is a pretty good recruiter himself already. He basically got his summer league team to all come to Marcus High School

I think he's Bama's for the taking (which I didn't think before this weekend). I'll gladly take that scrap if they slow play or pass!
