his reactions and instincts are fine. You can see that he is too slow when shooting holes or chasing the RB to the sideline. look at the difference between him shooting through a hole and then look at Beckwidth.

That might not be a fair comparison but you could look at Duke Reilly or any other LSU LB not named DJ Welter and you would see a huge difference athletically.

I'm not bashing the kid, I hope he has a great career where ever he ends up. I just think he is too slow to be an SEC LB.

Keep in mind a linebacker is usually the last line of defense against a touchdown. Good linebackers don't go "balls to the wall" because of this.

I'd rather have great instincts, great reaction time, and no missteps rather than pure speed, but if you have both then you're effective. Go Tigers.
