Two teams absolutely dominated college football in 2011. One rushed 508 times and passed 357 times. The other rushed 591 times and passed 279 times.

However, you want our coach to put in writing that we will throw the ball more than we run it. Absofrickinglutely brilliant strategy.

Once JJ got suspended that would have been impossible. You would have to start the experienced JL against Oregon. After he played well you would have to keep playing him. After JJ came back you can't put your #1 guy (there was a competition and he won it) at #3 for the season. So now you are stuck and Mett's not getting in.
Yes you can, and that's exactly what he should have done. JJ"s behavior and suspension alone in my mind relegates him to the back burner. He put himself before the team, he has to pay the price. Mett becomes #2, gets meaningful experience and PT, and is good to go for next year. JJ is relegated to back up in case of emergency, is never allowed to run the offense full time (which he wasn't qualified to do anyway because he can't pass), JL stays in as #1 and everyone's happy.

Instead we get Master Hardhead manipulating things in an obtuse way and getting an undesirable result which pisses off the fan base and ruins the recruits perception of the program.

the truth about the message is that we had a QB who could sling it sit on the bench for all last season. Mett didn't just sign up as QB he has been here all year we just didn't bother to use him. so core old boy gotta wonder what was wrong with that picture. just telling it like it is.

One of Miles' faults as a coach is he doesn't necessarily play the best player.

How about #1 for most of the season.......13-0 for the first time ever in LSU history.......SEC Champions

AND a NC loss to a very good team that we had already beaten

Take your misery someplace else

I really don't think that the BSCNCG result will be much of an issue with CP. He's likely to go where he can play a year then hit the NFL and he'll go where that can happen the easiest.

If it's tie in his mind with all the schools, he'll probably play closer to his home in SC.

I wouldn't take him not coming to LSU as a diss. He wasn't much talked about prior to RR deciding to leave, because it would have made no sense for him to come here with RR here. I wouldn't be surprised if he went somewhere totally unexpected.

However, if anyone can reel him in its CLM, then master closer.

Last I checked we were M I L E S better than the teams we were competing withfor Cordarrelle's signature. Every team in the nation, save Alabama, would L O V E to have been L S U in the 2011 season. And every team in America, including Alabama, would L O V E to be in the same position as L S U heading into the 2012 season.

I think it boils down to one thing, and that is how his visit went with Mett. If he got the sense he had a shot at being Metts go-to guy, and if Mett felt the same way, I would think we would way high on his list. If not, we're done...

My pitch would be something along the lines of "If you seriously pick Ole Miss or Auburn right now, you just told NFL scouts all they need to know about you intelligence and desire to win."

No, seriously, I would probably say the obvious...PT, top-5 team, NC contender, etc...

Isn't he supposed to announce his top 3 this weekend? Any guesses on if it will be on Saturday or Sunday?

AL would not L O V E to be in LSU's position next season because they do not have M I L E S and they also have a young QB that can P A S S and has already won a BCSNC (that guy we said sucked who made our all american secondary look less than average) ..........

Get off the recruiting board with this negative garbage that you keep spewing. Nobody wants to hear it.

Correction, he made Mathieu look below average if that's the way you want to see it. I thought TM7 was in good position on most of them but was just beat by a better throw and bigger reciever. McCarron had a good night and was sharp but I didn't see him picking on anyone but the LBs and TM7. He didn't try Mo or the deep middle with the Reid and Taylor playing 2 deep. Most of the passes were less than 10 yards long. Not exactly slicing and dicing. Just a good gameplan that took advantage of our weakness at LB and covering TEs.
