Most of the people named aren't really correct.
I'll start with '05 because naming players from the class of '09 after they've played all of one game isn't really all that fair.
'05:
Derrick Williams
Patrick Turner
Melvin Alaeze (legal problems)
Fred Rouse
Martellus Bennett (in college, looking to be turning it on in the NFL now)
Reginald Youngblood
Marlon Lucky
Callahan Bright
Jason Gwaltney
RP
Tray Blackmon
Demetrice Morley
Kevin Grady
Antone Smith
Dan Doering
Crazy to think McFadden was ranked 23rd overall in that class. That may be Rivals' worst evaluation year ever.
06:
CJ Spiller (he's on the cusp, but has never been what people thought he'd be)
Mitch Mustain
Allen Bradford
Ricky Sapp
Al Woods
CJ Gable
Brandon Warren
James Aldridge
Carl Johnson
Tebow was 22nd in that class...
07:
McKnight (could be turning it around)
Everson Griffen
Torrey Davis
Chad Jones (to date)
Terrance Toliver (to date)
Chris Donald
Ben Martin
Cameron Newton
A few of these guys aren't outright busts. Many of them still have a chance to make something of their careers... they are just guys that have not performed up to their expectations.

I took the list from the Rivals100 from 2004 - 2008 (5) star guys. and their rank by Rivals in ().
2004:
1. (4) QB: Rhett Bomar - Oklahoma
2. (6) LB: Willie Williams - The U
3. (10) QB: Xavier Lee - Florida St.
4. (17) WR: Cameron Colvin - Oregon
5. (21) WR: Lance Leggett - The U
6. (22) WR: Xavier Carter - LSU - Chose track over football but still a bust on the field.
2005:
1. (1) WR - Derrick Williams - Penn St.
2. (4) DE - Melvin Alaeze - Maryland - Never played a snap of college football cause he got arrested and is currently in prison.
3. (9) OL - Reggie Youngblood - The U
4. (14) DT - Callahan Bright - Florida St.
5. (15) RB - Jason Gwaltney - West Virgina
6. (22) DB - Demetrice Morley - Tennessee
7. (23) RB - Kevin Grady - Michigan
Honestly to me its still too early in the game to evaluate anymore years. I don't like to judge till most of their class reaches the NFL.

Most of those are decent players. I was assuming that a bust was a complete bust.

Like I said at the end of the post, I defined it by guys who never really lived up their billing. To me a 5 star player that is only a decent player... is a bust. Because they are supposed to be the best of the best.

Anybody that was arrested what like 11 times before their Senior year in high school? How in the Hell do you not think they NOT gonna be trouble..Willie "THE PREDATOR" Williams..Went from Miami to Louisville to a NAIA school to another NAIA school and last week got arrested for burglary AGAIN!.. al woods was very highly regarded...McCoy? at OU has outplayed him tremendously

Demetrice Morley.... Kenny Phillips was rated db 1 and Morley was rated Db 1A their senior years in high school...Phillips went on to star at Miami and get drafted in the first round by the Giants..while Morley would NEVER go to class..got booted..helped in the strong arm mugging of a guy in Miami ( Fulmer let him back on the team)..and couldn't hack it with "BeBe"..he got on his bad side real quick..So he is somewhere with 2 kids and probably mugging somebody as we speak.

Martellus Bennett was a freaking 2nd round pick...explain to me how a guy "busts" in college and ends up being the 4th TE drafted, as a Junior none the less.

Looking at the last 4 years is not enough. Many of those guys are true freshmen or rs freshmen. How could they possibly be considered busts thus far. You really should be looking at this year's senior class as the end of your range, not the beginning.

I think you have to look at Shep and Randle. Both 5 stars and monster recruits, but neither has done shite on the field. Busts IMO

Freshman: 18 catches, 162 yards, 3 TDs
Sophomore: 38 catches, 497 yards, 3 TDs
Junior: 49, 587 yards, 4 TDs
Does that look like a 5 star stud to you?

He's a very solid player. But again, he was supposed to be the most dominant pass rusher of that class.. he was the number 6 ranked player in the country.
Is he good? Absolutely. Is he still one of the top pass rushers in the country? Not really...

Over 500 yds receiving as a TE in a run-oriented offense with Steven McGee as the QB?

These are good stats for a TE.

both of these guys had solid years and were drafted in the NFL. dont know if they would fall under "bust".
