All right, so now we're looking for linebackers...

Obviously we need a kid out of the portal, but right now we only have 5 linebackers on the roster and that's counting the additions of Whit Weeks and Christian Braithwaite.

That's at least two short of what we've got to have.

I found three kids in the state who haven't signed yet and who might be worth kicking the tires on. I don't know much about any of them, but here's what's out there.

First up: Dickson Agu from Dutchtown. He's 6-1 and 225 and he's a Tulane commitment but didn't sign early.

Apparently he's got outstanding grades and wants to be a surgeon.

Next: Jirrea Johnson from Warren Easton. He's 5-11 and 210 or so.

Finally, Kevon Freeman from Lake Charles College Prep. He's about 6-0 and 215 or so.

I grant you that none of these guys are coming in and starting right away. The question is, can you get depth and/or some special teams play out of any of them?

I kind of like Agu. I'm not sure I wouldn't take a flyer on him.

Looking around the national picture I don't see a whole lot of unsigned linebackers. The ones still available all look really small, like 190 pounds or so. So I don't know if there's a high school recruit out there who's a whole lot better than the in-state options.

And I'm not sure there's anybody in the portal I'd be excited about either.
