Pike was a little more than just cocky.

the kid is/was stupid with his twitter and banter back and forth with bama fans.

Agreed on this

not saying Rettig is any different, but Pike was something special, for sure.

Rettig is nowhere near as dumb as Pike has been, that's for sure

Not a "bad" attitude, just cocky like Pike. Not really a problem with it, our coaches just didn't want two in the same locker room for 4 years.

Cam Newton is the cockiest quarterback I can remember in the SEC. Who cares if a player is cocky. Not every player is Pike.

Yea I bet Gene Chizik straight up told yalls rivals guru that Auburn was no longer interested in Hayden because yalls coaching staff can't handle having 2 cocky football players in the same lockeroom at a time.

Didn't get it from a mod, they won't really say anything. And both aren't just cocky, but there's no point in trying to explain anything. You'll just live up to your username.

Man hold on just one da_ minute. I can't help this, but JJ was the three and out king and master of the intentional grounding penalty. I know the dude that wrote that nonsense is not even logged on, but quit bringing that dudes' name up. I'm trying to recover.

that's not even the point. A coach not recruiting someone because he doesn't want to 2 cocky kids in the same locker room is one of the lamest excuses I've come across yet.

why dont you explain what all Rettig has done that is so terrible some coaching staffs wont even recruit him anymore.

We couldn't handle another Zeke Pike-esque attitude, so we took Johnson. Not mad in the slightest
this is laughable. Pike consistently showed what a tool he is w/ all his twitter garbage. Could you come up w/ a lamer excuse?

I'm just trying to keep things in perspective here. Although they won't be remembered as great qbs, 24 wins in 2 seasons in the toughest conference in america is a great accomplishment no matter who's under center. Even Flynn and Jamarcus had 2 losses per season. You are what your record says you are and Les Miles managed the qb situation like a real boss. Therefore, JJ and JL should not be referred to as "bums" and Les should always be commended, not disrespected for his efforts. The guy just led us to the BCS Championship Game and now you want to forget that he ever existed. I know it hurts but there's always next year. That's just part of being a fan.

I think I read an article a few weeks ago with some quotes from Chizik about not accepting cocky players anymore into the program. made mention of Mathieu being a great contributor but not someone he wants on his team and in his locker room. Gene's a class act hope he can turn it around with this zero tolerance cockyness initiative.

Can you explain for the rest of us? If our QB of the future has some kind of major attitude problem that drove off other suitors, I'd like to know about it.

lol, he does not. It was the go-to for AU fans after AU took Johnson "instead" of Rettig. There was also that Rettig refused to be part of a 2 QB class, and that LSU only offered Rettig after Johnson committed to AU. All of this was later proven false, and is a pretty obvious and pathetic cover to the fact that 95% of AU fans would have preferred Rettig.

Dude I'm don't want to argue with you. I just want you to shut up on the recruiting board about it.

Most people put band aids over a festering wound but an idiot leaves it out for everyone to see.

If you really are an LSU fan, you're taking pictures of your own wounds and broadcasting them on the web.

Just SU about Miles system

I've seen this guys pics, I don't think he gets much sunshine where he's from, or he moisturizes/uses sunblock really well.
