Tony Upchurch
D.J. Chark

Recruiting Board
Speedy Noil
Malachi Dupre
Saeed Blacknall
Trey Quinn
Cameron Sims
D'haquille Williams

Absolutely no way we take 7, I think that's a given. But I also think 6 is way to much considering the talent at other positions. Even though Williams is a 1, possibly 2 year guy.. we need to fill up on other spots.

I'm thinking Upchurch stays a part of this class.

There was also speculation that Voorhies was going to be moving to WR. I think that's done.

What does everyone think about moving Noil to Safety? Think he would work out more so than Upchurch?

As much as it pains this board and the posters on 247, no way Sims makes it into this class.

Should have made it to camp for an offer rather than Just sitting at home on Twitter.

I'm pretty sure it would upset a lot more people if we take him, considering it would mean taking 6 WR's..possibly 7.

I trust the staff to do whatever they have to do with Robinson, without having to package him with Sims.

Williams is a one and done type player. I don't think his commitment affects the staff's effort in signing 4-5 HS prospects at the position.

We all assume that Dupre, Noil, and Quinn have offers until signing day.

Blacknall seems like he's a heavy lean but you never know if distance will become a factor at some point.

I see Upchurch being labeled a numbers casualty but the staff may want to hold on to him. They accepted his commitment when they weren't forced to.

Sims isn't happening unless he comes to camp and convinces the staff that he's too good to pass up. A lot of the worry here is his influence on Cam Robinson.

I agree. The neurotic posters stressing over Sims, especially after his BAMA "offer," was pretty disgusting to see.

Now the elite WRs are being lined up and cherry picked.

Little brother syndrome like a MFer on these boards.

It doesnt. But it would still take up a spot from another position. Having OVER 1/5 of your class at WR isn't what made LSU..well.. LSU. Especially with the talent spread out in the '14 class.

It's really easy to justify taking 6, if it comes to that.

Williams - 1 and done.
Upchurch - Size and skill set dictate that he could end up as an H-back, WR, or even someone that gets a carry from time to time.
Dupree - Too good to pass up
Noil - Slot, returner, screen pass guy
Blacknall - Outside guy with size needed
Quinn - deep threat

Three levels of pass catchers:
Deep - Quinn, Williams
Intermediate - Blacknall, Dupre
Short - Noil, Upchurch

Not to say that any of those guys couldn't do any of the other things, but those are generally where they would be best utilized.

ETA: Also, Wright and Boone are gone. Leslie, Landry, or Beckham could all go after a huge year. And Armand Williams and Jarrett Fobbs will both be in their 4th year in the program without making an impact, so they could potentially graduate and move on. I predict we lose 5 WRs after next season.

ETAA: And after we lose those 5 guys, the next season, Williams is a one and done, and Dural and Peterson will both be draft eligible.

Spot on but the WR position at LSU needs a complete overhaul. This 14 class is coming around at the perfect time.

25 spots (if that)..with 6 being WR? It has nothing to do with creating a logjam at WR..it's takin away a spot for another position.

You guys think the recent Williams commit will speed up the decision making process of Noil/Dupre/Quinn?

Sims did go to camp, and didn't show the speed and athleticism they wanted to see.

Future TE IMO

Noil is playing the game. No one should speculate that he doesn't know where he wants to be

truth....people seem to forget that we send a lot of kids to the league early. if CC is going to implement his pro passing game we are going to need multiple weapons at wr....let it begin.

getting better.
