not sure if it's been posted yet, but lots of LaPlace is underwater. My mom's coworker called earlier from the neighbor's attic

damn, that's terrible, is it just that the spillway has backed up that's causing the flooding there? I'm not too familiar w the geography there.

that area isn't protected by levees. It could have something to do with the spillway. I've been avoiding the TV and getting my news on this from social media

my parents in The Links are now reporting that the water is rising instead of receding. About 4" from coming in their house.

river forest(comepletely flooded), old 51, new 51, cambridge, riverlands near Ascension of Our Lord School, riverlands near madewood drive, river oaks, carmel valley in Belle Terre, parts of St. Andrews Blvd. and the waters rising near St. Andrews estates, the Links and Lakes, Subdiv.

This really sucks. So many people I know affected by this, and in neighborhoods that have made it through many storms before without anywhere close to this amount of water. I remember Juan causing some street flooding in River Forest when I was a kid, but nothing like today. May God Bless the good people of LaPlace and St. John.

Pretty much everything from belle terre to river forest north of airline is flooded. The closer to the lake, the higher the water. Riverlands is not too bad from what I understand but I don't have first hand info from there.

My parents left their house in in St Andrews estates to check on a friend but by the time they tried to come back the water was too high to get back in. Water wasn't in the house yet though

My dogs are stuck on the second floor of the house alone, the water won't reach them up there but I am worried about when we will be able to reach them

Not terribly familiar with the area... Checking on someone's house near Esplande and Frisco. Any ideas? If bad, any estimates of how much water?

Does anyone know how all of the businesses along Belle Terre blvd are doing? Was the water really high between airline and Fairway?
