Meat, I tried to get in touch with your brother but haven't heard back. Are they doing ok?

I asked on FB if anyone heard from them bc I keep trying everyone and am getting nothing. Adrienne said they went to her moms. I can't find my mom though.

Hey Meat - your mom is a smart lady. Probably just really crappy cell service right now. I couldn't get in touch with mine for 17 hours and it ended up just being cell problems! Will let you know if I hear anything though!

I know. But with my dad being required to work with the parish at the fire dept, I'm a little wigged out. Just crazy.

This is that storm your parents told you about when we were little. Crazy shite.

Thanks for the pics. It's strange to see the old hometown under water like that. I know they always have problems at the back of River Forest and at 51 and I-10 because they're both so close to the lake, but I don't think I've ever seen it that high.

My friend's parents just moved from the back of Old 51 to Ridgefield and report no flooding there. Hope that helps! I feel for you!

I'm having someone try and text them. Does anyone know how far up old 51 the flooding goes? I'm assuming everything near the interstate is having high water. They live about about 2/3s down the way to airline.

In all the years family had lived that on that stretch, I don't think they ever flooded. This goes back to when the houses were built in the 50's and earlier.

I'm not sure how far it went. I'm still trying to find out myself. My brother lives right across from that dance studio and pet store. Forget the subdivision name right now.

from what im hearing about halfway up old 51 from i10.

Family friends on Remy drive have 3 feet in house, also hearing a good bit of cambridge is flooded. My parents said the winds are starting to shift from the south and the water seems to be receding in LaPlace.

If I get word back I'll post something.

Guess this means Middendorfs is under water. And I've been meaning to load up the gang for some thin fried lately.

If I had to guess the old part is under water. The new addition and kitchen was built about 6-7 feet higher than the old part.
