Still dealing with rebuilding our home after hurricane Ida, and thinking we’re going with luxury vinyl to replace our older engineered floors. Wanted to ask for any opinions on a particular brand that anyone recommends. We still want a wood plank look, and I’ve heard that a V-bevel edge is optimal. Previous floor was a floating application over a slab. Thanks in advance

Check out Galvanite. It has a 30 mil wear layer. Expensive but durable and looks great.

I can’t help, but the term “luxury vinyl flooring” always makes me chuckle a bit.

Ha! Yes agree… I grew up in the era where vinyl flooring was the cheap roll out stuff. Keep hearing that more folks are using “LVF” … I’m curious

We did it throughout on our remodel last year and have had no complaints. No warping, cleans easily and has less problems than laminate.

Had to replace my floors due to Ida. The brand I went with was Nexxacore. A little on the expensive side, but very nice stuff. My installer said it was some of the best he's installed.

I went with Mannington Audra Apex in Aspen Bark. Big planks, easy to install. It's a higher end LVP so the knots and grain of the wood is actually embossed into the vinyl. Can feel the "wood imperfections" which makes it feel a little more like real wood. Plus my toddler and dogs have yet to put a mark on it, which is the best part.

Oh, and get a quote through weshipfloors.com. They are in east TN right by all the factories and ship all over the country.

We have this and I like it for our need due to water concerns. However, our shows lots of little dents around the dining chairs and bar stools. We put the pads under the feet and the dents still happen. They are not glaringly noticeable but I see them in the right light and from an angle view.

We have Lawson legends in the homer color. We did it throughout the entire house with a small layer of rubber beneath it. No complaints.

Fixing our home due to Ida as well.

We are going with Frimfit XXL by bpi Prestige.
It's a larger plank (9" x 60")and commercial rated with limited lifetime warranty for residential use. Has beveled edges

Its SPC (stone plastic composite) vs LVT.

We went Johnson & Johnson Farmhouse Manor, I like it. Is it perfect, I dunno. Would most people be fooled into thinking it's wood? Probably not, but our house has some other features that I think will distract from that. (like a river view and such)

It was the cheapest material selection that we used in the entire house but it's what my SO wanted, because she's a clean freak and wanted to "mop" it as often she wanted. She had had engineered wood, and LVP, and we looked at everything as I was pretty resistant to LVP. To me, it's biggest drawback is the sound that it makes versus the sound of wood.

Will it look better in the long run? Probably so. Is it a better value? Very possible.

I studied the heck out of it, trying to make sure we got the right core, mils, etc. In the end, we got what we thought looked/felt the best. Eighteen months ago, availability was just starting to be a thing, probably more so now. It's very difficult to get a picture of a whole room based on a little sample.

I had to read of lots of multi million dollar houses using it before I felt "somewhat" comfortable committing to it. (and ours wasn't a million dollar house)

Sorry that I don't have any detailed advice. We did get the best price on this product from Marchand's in Gonzales versus ProSource.

9 months ago we put in the Blanco from "Origins" and really are fond of it. We get comments from nearly every visitor.

Not our place but the floor we got:

We went with Armstrong. It has a very nice wood like texture, matte finish. Don't rush the prep work. Ensure that the subfloor is level and your installation should go smoothly.
