Deciding on EGO blower

I’m trying to decide between these two EGO blowers. Obvious answer seems to be take the one with higher speed but wasn’t sure if I was overlooking something.

At the same price, I'd go with the one with more CFM and speed. But it probably will drain the battery faster. Depending on the size of your property, and whether you have another Ego tool with a battery, you may want to plan for buying a second battery. Especially if you plan on using it to blow leaves in the wintertime.

At the same price, get the 615.
But I’d suggest looking for the same blower with a 5.0 battery, which will last a lot longer.

I was worried about battery drain with the stronger one. I don’t have much property to use it on and was trying to avoid paying the extra $80 for the 5A battery.

I fully agree with the poster stating to look at the 5.0ah battery. For most blower uses the 2.5ah will be ok but if you need to use it for a longer time you will be out of juice.
Plus, if you ever need to interchange that battery and use it on a string trimmer or mower it will run ouf juice sooner than you get your job done.
My Greenworks 5.0ah battery in my push mower is a workhorse.

Assuming it’s adjustable speed like my 5 year old Ego, you can always reduce the power if needed.

You should be able to turn it down. I have the weaker one and it works fine for me. I don't have much to blow so I normally hit the turbo button. I've never ran the battery out on it. 2.5 AH battery

Even the smaller one has a ton of power. You very rarely need to put it on the highest setting but that bitch will blow your socks off if you need it too

I have a Kobalt with a 2.5. Does just fine, and I can blow the yard twice without recharging. Convenient if you need to bring it somewhere, as there is no mix fuel to spill.

I bought the 5302 model from AcmeTools as a factory refurb last year and love it. It's not as powerful as a big gas model, but I've had no issues with battery life or power.

I have the 110 and it's all I need and then some. I also have their weed eater. I used the same battery for both and have never drained it.
edit: I have the 2.5 battery.

Get the big battery.
2 seasons so far and no signs of lost power or run time.

Go with higher power.
I have the lower powered one and it’s great but Sometimes I want more power
Also these things have a power control lever so you don’t have to go full power if you don’t need it

I have the lower powered one, and the string trimmer too. I’ve had them for 4 years now. They both came with the 2.5Ah batteries. After the first season I noticed they didn’t quite last as long as they did the first season, but they were still enough between the two batteries to last the full trim and blowing everything off. My yard is a little over 1/2 an acre. At the beginning of this season I bought a knock off 5Ah battery off of Amazon for half the price of an EGO one and it’s been working fine so far. I can do the hole yard on that one battery. I still use the 2Ah batteries every now and then just to keep them as fresh as possible.
They stay in my garage, definitely not the best environment for a battery with all the heat so that might have contributed to the loss of run time on the original batteries.

I have the 615/2.5, used it about and hour ago after finishing my yard. Love it. I only use maybe about 1/4 of a full battery charge at most each time.
I’m probably going to buy the trimmer in the very new future as well. Usually takes me 15-20 mins to do all my trimming and edging with a chorded trimmer currently. I should easily be able to do that with the same full battery charge as the blower without running out of juice.

Is the string trimmer pretty easy and comfortable to flip over and use as an edger?

It’s pretty well balanced with the 2.5Ah battery and very easy to do whatever you need to do with it. A lot like a normal gas one. I do use it every now and then to edge. Especially at the beginning of the season when the grass is a bit over grown at the concrete. But with the 5Ah it is a little heavy on the battery side, might just need to adjust where the handle is though to help with that. Unless your yard is huge you wouldn’t need a 5Ah battery for the trimmer though, I’ve only used it on the trimmer when I didn’t run it down much with the blower.

Thanks for the info. Just bought the ST1510T trimmer without the battery (and a pack of extra line). I'm confident I can trim/edge and blow in less than 30 minutes, so a fully charged 2.5 Ah battery should be just fine for me. My yard isn't huge.
