I guess I'm late to this thread but here's my two cents.
I was typically not a fan of the religious threads.
That said, I find it odd that we chose to kill off a category of thread from the Poli Board that often generated threads 15-30 pages long.
Would seem to me that the level of participation would indicate that despite the bitching of some, it basically represented a loudmouthed minority.
Any honest look at Politics today in the U.S. would indicate that quite obviously, religious views help frame the political views of a great many individuals(on both sides of the aisle).
I don't think I've EVER been to a Political board that didn't have religious threads popping up. That should tell you something.

A religion board would be awesome, because it would concentrate all those threads in one place for me to easily ignore them

of course i was ok with all religious talk being on the poli-board....we had accepted that(being that our previouis requests for a religion board were shot down)...we understood......but then we were informed there was problems with that as well......and that it had to have some political aspect to stay on the PT or else it would be moved to the OT.
at any rate....
I never thought we would see it.....
