Haven’t looked into the research, but hear about it on a bunch of different podcasts (mainly Rogan’s with Rhonda Patrick and mindpump).
Anyway I’m posted up in this sauna increasing my HGH. How often you baws hit the sauna? How long are your sessions?

I wouldn’t do more than 10 to 15 mins at a time.

I did 12 minutes. Felt like a lifetime.

I wish my gym had one.

The research is pretty amazing. All I have access to right now is the steam room at the Y. It's annoying. I am gonna have to get myself one soon. My favorite sauna experience of all time was a wooden one near Grand Targhee, ID. I think I spent more time in it than skiing. I like being able to go from dry to steam and love the wood burning.

I have a wet sauna at my house, use it much more in the winter.

Tim Ferris has some stuff on the benefits of sauna on his podcast

I probably do once a week. My gym’s is only at 155-160F so 20 minutes is pretty easy to do. I’m not really sure what the benefits are but it makes me sweat and feels good after a workout so I like it

Following
I have always preferred steam rooms (helps open up breathing passages from Allergies etc)
The gym I go to has nice versions of both. I'm interested in the boards thoughts on the respective benefits of one over the other.

I also prefer steam (with lots of eucalyptus), however, the health benefits of infrared are pushing me towards the purchase of a dry sauna. Tim Ferris and Joe Rogan both have podcasts on sauna, just Google.
What are the supposed benefits of using an infrared sauna?
Cardiovascular Health improvement
better sleep.
relaxation.
detoxification.
weight loss.
relief from sore muscles.
relief from joint pain such as arthritis.
clear and tighter skin.
improved circulation.

In the past couple of years, I've started doing the dry sauna for about 15 minutes, maybe twice/month. I haven't noticed any obvious benefits but hopefully there is some good from it.
A couple of weeks ago, I lifted weights and then did a HIIT class and could tell it was going to give me soreness for a couple of days (slightly overdid it). I did 15 minutes in the hot tub, then about 5-10 minutes in the colder side of the pool (not cold plunge but pretty chilly), then finished with 15 minutes of dry sauna. No idea if this is recommended by my soreness the next day was definitely less than expected.

Every single day.

No sauna at my gym. I guess I could go up into my attic mid-summer if I wanted the same experience.
For some real fun though, hit the sauna first, then go into the cold plunge (if your gym has one). That'll put some lead in your pencil.

I have one at my new gym, went for the first time and played with all the color combinations.
I liked it, but i'm not sure i'll make it over there 2-3 times for sweat sessions in addition to my workouts (could maybe do it both days of the weekend and an off day)
