My gym doesn't have a bench rack...

I no longer have to worry about rushing to the gym to make sure there is enough equipment. The place I go now is a total fricking meathead gym with plenty of squat racks/power racks etc. I can take up a spot for an hour and do my entire workout without having to feel like an a-hole for taking up one of the 3 spots available like I used to at my old gym. I love it.
Not gonna lie though, I miss the scenery of the rec center where all the hot mom's/college girls go to do cardio.

Planet Fitness doesn't maintain their equipment and they won't let gym bags on the floor (which I'm sure is common practice but I don't like it).

one of the gold's gyms near me has only one sauna that is coed in between the mens/womens locker rooms

The LSU UREC built this fantastic functional training area with sleds and heavy tires. Yet there always seems to be a group of girls with their yoga mats in the middle of the damn floor taking up a lane to carry heavy shite across.

They are trying to get fricked, brah.

While they typically get the hint once I start barring down on them, eventually it's going to be a game of chicken and I don't like losing.

The gym out here at Stennis Space Center doesn't have a squat rack.
Smith Machine, yes, Squat Rack, no.

The no gym bag rule is fricking retarded.

Yeah I hate it because I have my gymnastics rings, my resistance bands, my ab wheel, all kinds of stuff.
They make you put it in a locker and then get it out as you need it. fricks with my groove.

Brag - My 24 hour fitness membership is $21 a year for the rest of my life (Sport Only). Going on my 13th year at $21.
Complain - I cannot financially justify a new/home gym because it only cost me $21 a year.

Gym recently had a change of ownership. Few notables...
Just quadrupled our real estate by leasing other bays.
Extra real estate makes way for lifting platforms.
Lifting platforms (and interested lifters) justifies the start of a barbell club.
And there is plenty of room for the ongoing crossfit/crosstraining activities.
No Air conditioning. I'm sweaty AF before I'm done changing into gym clothes.

Brag- my employer pays half my membership fees for a family plan at my gym.
Complain- when I work days, I have to deal with the douches of the evening crowd.

bullshite!!! how much is your time worth? cause trust me, its worth it. a nice power cage, barbell, bench and weights and a set of wooden rings is all you need. Make it happen captain!!!!

I am close to building out a home gym with basically what you listed out. Workouts are hitting 1.5 - 2 hours now, would be nice to chill at home doing it some days.

I just went and bought a kit from an outfit here in Houston (GetRxd) and put it in the garage. I wanted to run through Hatch stuff away from the Crossfit gym. My wife is now doing the Strong lift stuff 3 nights a week in there. Well worth it. Added TRX, dumbbells, med balls, yoga mats, and other stuff, and we are self sufficient.
However, I still chose to pay out of my arse for Crossfit membership. I enjoy the company...lol.
