I'm leaning toward an Assault AirBike.

Does anyone here have any other advice/recommendation?

I'd say an airdyne bike, concept 2 rower, or a vertical/maxi climber

Get a rower. They look like fun.

rower or air bike. I suggest assualt fitness or xebex for the bike, c2rower or xebex for the rower. You will not be dissappointed in whatever you choose.

Versaclimber, arc trainer and assualt runner/truform runner are all awesome too but are triple the price minimum. Same with jacobs ladder.

also something to consider would be a prowler type sled. They are amazing for getting in shape but will whip your arse.

last night i did the death by assualt bike workout. Started at 5 cals the 1st min, 6 the 2nd, 7 the 3rd, etc. Made it to 12 calories and failed at 11.7 cals burned for that min. I was completely dead after that. The great thing about the fan bikes though is its all concentric, so although you get pumped from the crazy amount of blood going to your legs, you are never sore and it actually helps with recovery.

I have both the rower and air bike by xebex and I prefer the bike for just killer workouts, intervals and even slow riding to workout soreness. Its much more versatile than the rower and honestly is harder and provides a better workout when you push it.

Assault bike. It's kind of hard to believe what 30 sec of max effort work and 30 seconds of rest on that thing can do to you. They are great. Next on my list is a ski erg.

I have a treadmill and a stationary bike that you have to move the handlebars also. I ride it with 5 lb ankle weights and the resistance cranked up. I promise the bike will wear you out and not every muscle group.

Eta - Only negative about the bike is that it took a while to build up to the high resistance. It murdered my knees and shoulders at first.

LOVE my assault bike. Will kick your arse when you want it to, but has underrated spinning value.

My go-to workout: 5min warmup, 10min of 15 sec top effort followed by 45sec moderate, 5min cool down.
