Riverbend is a great course, that will test you and make you a better player.

But if you live downtown, why not just play at Wildcat.

Join either Black Hawk or Golf Club of HOUSTON and get 5 courses for around 400/month. Courses on all sides of town and all decent places.

GCOH - member and tournament course
Black Hawk
Black Horse north and south courses.

I don’t know what the current initiation is but I have enjoyed the membership over the last 5 years. Many new friends made and have met new golfers from all the other clubs in the area through inter club play and have been able to play most all other courses because of those connections.

Damn. I thought it would be more for Black Hawk. I live right by there but have never been. I might need to request some information from them...

ETA: If you ever want to take someone from the TD Golf Board out there, I would probably be the best choice. Just saying.

The Initiation for someone under 40 was around $30K as of last year. 60K for Shadow.

Best bang for buck in that area of town would be Willowfork, Pecan Grove, or Falcon point.

I'm not a fan of Falcon Point because of the super tight fairways and the social atmosphere is meh.

Pecan Grove is OK, but there are a number of members that have no pride in the club and will damm near drive up to and on the greens.

Willowfork currently has the clubhouse being renovated and course is going through bunker renovation. Bunkers are close to being finished.

Any of you Houston players interested in getting a group together some weekend soon? Seems like we got enough players to get at least 1 group together.

That is not the initiation fee at all. I didn’t pay that amount. I paid around 18k paid out over 4 years interest free. They currently have options that are better than that.

Guedeaux email me and we can go play. I’ll get the mem director comp your round
