Why does the world's most popular sport have the worst video game?

Fifa has sucked arse for years. I've never seen a major game have so many serious bugs. The problem is it's only getting worse. Fifa 12 was better than 13, and 14 is by far the worst of the three. Wtf is going on? It sells a shite ton and has insanely high demand worldwide. How are they not able to put together a decent game?

I hate unresponsive buttons, poor directional recognition, and comatose teammates too...but all things considered, FIFA is still tFlagship when it comes to sports games.

I'm going to excuse 14 on the Xbone since it was their first crack at next gen, but sports games as a whole need help. It's becoming harder and harder to justify dropping 60 a pop.

I enjoy it, but NBA 2K is a better product imo.

Fifa and NBA 2K have a similar feel. I think they are both great

MLB The Show laughs at this thread. They've run things since at least 2010

it's way too damn hard to enjoy if you don't have significant time to work at improving. the Fifa games are infinitely more enjoyable in terms of just playing and having fun IMO of course.

Soccer is a sport for poor people, why should they waste money on making a good video game??? Most of the soccer fans in the world cannot afford electricity.

If you're one of the people that blows hundreds of dollars on Madden and Fifa for the Ultimate Team crap, it's fine. But that's literally the only depth to it. The career modes, both player and manager, are a joke and are buggy as hell. I'm two years into my player's career and it's STILL saying that every international appearance I make for the USA is my debut, it also still lists my salary as $2,000 a week when the last contract I signed was for $45,000 a week. My "status" is still "recently acquired from Wolverhampton" I haven't played for them since my first month and have played for three squads since then. In-game, it's fine. Other than that, it's awful.

I love madden because of the franchise I have with my friends. Lot of shite talking and epic games. Not awful at all. Madden 25 was glitchy as frick on the 360 but the xbox 1 version was 100000x better than the 360 one.

I rented the 2014 World Cup game a few weeks ago and really enjoyed it. I will say that The Show takes the cake as far as sports games go though.

Just as I say in-game it's fine, I play a game and someone gets injured, it lists the injured player as Gueye from Everton, the cutscene plays to show an injured player on the ground, the guy on the ground WASN'T EVEN ON EVERTON! The injured player was, in fact, Gueye, but for some unknown reason, it showed a player from Arsenal on the ground. Not a single player on Arsenal was injured during the game. More evidence of EA making shite games and getting away with having the market cornered.

And apparently there's a bug that makes your match rating plummet toward the end of games and there's no way to stop it. Just dropped from 9.6 to 8.3 in a matter of about 15 seconds and never even touched the ball or left position. Looked up some videos and it looks like it happens to everyone and there's still no explanation.

Golf clap, EA. Golf clap.
