Really all I play online is COD, BF and Madden. What download and upload speeds should I be looking for? And what ISP do you guys recommend?

I'm in the same boat right now. We had suddenlink unlimited a while back but switched to ATT internet and it's been complete garbage gaming wise, works fine on everything else. Really wanting to switch but don't know what plan would be best. This thread should be interesting

Might move this to the tech board. How has no one jumped on this?

Didn't notice the thread until now. Speed is not a factor. Low-tier broadband is more than enough (e.g. 5mbps, maybe even less). The most important thing is latency. You could have a gigabit connection, but if your average ping to [insert gaming server] is 200ms, you're gonna have a bad time. Your local cable provider is going to be your ideal ISP, unless you're lucky enough to have a fiber-to-the-premises alternative.

All of what Ilike said. Gaming, contrary to popular belief, doesn't require a substantial amount of bandwidth. More importantly, you need a very stable and reliable connection.

Ping times are FAR more important than upload and download.

Good stuff. I'm in Geismar now and it looks like I can just choose between Eatel fiber or one of the Cox packages. Any recommendation?

For cod look for a minimum of 5 Mbps upstream. The cod servers cap you at 5 so going over is useless unless you have multiple devices running at the same time. Downstream speed is important for how fast you download full games and updates but won't have a huge effect on gaming unless someone is streaming video while you play.

In my house we have 3 computers 3 iphones a ps4 and a camera system that runs off the internet 24/7. With all these devices 50Mbps down and 5Mbps up from cox is more than enough.

Also remember to hardwire your gaming device, makes a HUGE difference. Hardware (modem/router) have a substancial role also.
