I heard the last expansion was actually pretty decent? But as far as I can tell it's basically just a collection of people that are in so deep they can't leave and there isn't really a reason for new players to join. True?

When we get full body immersive virtual reality like you see in sci-fi (Ready: Player One) and anime (Sword Art Online). Though WoW will probably just make another expansion with that incorporate the system.

There's is still a community for everquest which came out in 1999. WoW is the most successful MMO ever and I wouldn't be surprised to see it keep going for awhile.

The last wow expansion was not decent really. It was their worst ever IMO. They completely killed off whatever remaining social aspects the game had with garrisons.

I don't really know who the game appeals to these days. I played starting on launch day and there is no way I'll ever play again. Blizzard completely gutted each class and homogenized them to make balance easier on themselves.

If Star Wars Galaxies hadn't been raped and killed I would most definitely still be playing 13 years later.

I would agree but I could see Blizzard being the type of company that will pull the plug at a certain point.

Did you play MoP? They made that xpac specifically for 10 year olds.

I think Legion will invigorate players again.. New talent overhaul with new class. Think they're getting rid of how stupid garrison missions are, it'll be interesting.

I'll probably give it a shot.

I didn't really care for the panda aspect on MoP, but I think it was a much better expansion then warlords. I was never a fan of garrisons.

Warlords of Draenor is almost unanimously perceived as the worst WoW expansion yet.

Mists was structurally sound with respect to raids, post-game, and the quantity of end game content, but many were turned off by the "panda" theme.

While Legion may not bring the number of subscribers back up into the 10 million range, based on what I've seen thus far, I think it will be the best expansion since Wrath.

MoP was awesome and some of Blizzard's best work. After a few months of WoD you can appreciate how good MoP was.

I unsubbed after clearing HFC heroic, probably resub right before Legion is released. I don't see an end in sight for the game TBH but they are never going to recapture the glory days. I'm probably going to be on-again, off-again until the game dies.

Not really. MoP was based on a reference way before 10 year olds even existed and was one of the best expansions as far as content is concerned.

Gonna disagree there. I thought it was better than both Cataclysm and WoD.

WoD is easily the worst. Cataclysm was ok, but it was a bad attempt at trying to make the game more difficult to appease a small minority of people who were asking for it. The game had already gone beyond the time when it was for the hardcore (vanilla, TBC) and the backtracking they did really turned off the playerbase they gained. Cata still bends WoD over backwards.

This is the biggest thing and the only reason I'd consider trying it again. It seems like they're at least trying to inject some life into the classes/specs again.

I just started playing again after like a 3 year layoff.

I honestly don't see them shutting down the servers ever...just tossing out xpacs every couple of years and raising the level cap.

I think they have what 6 to 7 million players still sending 15 bucks a month?

As long as that funding keeps rolling in at that level...wow will.
