Me and Totes entered the dark zone for the first time together. He shot the first thing he saw, thinking the dark zone was KOS no matter what. Didn't end well but was funny.

The landmark markers are where the NPCs are supposed to be. Sometimes they aren't there and of course you can find NPCs at other various locations. The best ones are usually at The Sports Store, the flame thrower guy in the subway, and the flamethrower/remote mini sentry gun in the area through the gate on the top left corner of the DZ.

Except there was no real explanation other than "you get better loot here" in the game. I loaded in and it was 20 guys fighting with each other, so I waited to see red skulls and I would shoot them. Got to rank 7 but never got anything from it.
Now I understand. I'll try again tonight since they extended the beta. Might have more fun.

It's kind of like practice because it's not like you're going to keep this loot after tonight anyways. Finding gear and ensuring it's extraction isn't something I've personally experienced in a game.
And I'm sure once the full game releases, there will actual content for you to do in there.

I understand that this is a beta and we shouldn't get the full product, but the game seems very barren. Might be by design, but I will withhold opinion until final release

Reminds me of when somebody told me how easy it was to get laid at a certain club. I sat at the bar by myself all night and waited. That place sucks, I didn't get laid once.

I have a loot related question for those who played.
What are the stats? Like I'm sure there will be guns that do more damage, but what about armor/clothes?
Dmg reduction?
+Stats?
+to medical/ability ?
Cosmetic upgrades?
What's the carrot on the stick to keep players grinding.

Division footage
Division will be an IGN First this month. Basically it is their equivalent of game informer where they get to release footage no one else has or information will be announced their first. You can tell as you get higher level you are expected to rely on skills more, hence the RPG mechanics.

I noticed that armor pieces had additional stats associated with them besides their base DMG resistance. For example, I noticed some chest pieces gave extra ammo capacity and others had stamina boosts. Same with weapons and the attachments on the them.

Balancing all that is going to be interesting.
Like if straight damage reduction has no diminishing returns and just makes you a pvp God, why get any other stat. Just an example

This not having just a straight pvp mode makes balance less important but I do get what you are saying.
