The League thread was a success so I figured I'd start one for CS:GO, too. If you play CS:GO throw your steamID/user and rank in here and I'll keep the OP updated to help encourage getting some crews going. I'll start.

Drewbiie- drewbie21/Xayne- MGI
Tedock- strykerg88/New England Clam Chowder - Unranked
HamCandy- .defect/ Defect - LEM
TunaTigers- tuna_dan/Tuna_dan - Nova 3
Aub10- Wuffles10 - Global
puffulufogous - puffulufogous87 - DMG
bubbz - O'Neill - MGE

strykerg88/New England Clam Chowder

Just now able to play competitive after having crappy internet for the last year (had to stick to casual and DM), need 2 more wins to get ranked. Been putting me up against people in the GNM to MG2 range in competitive.

I really think Valve went overboard with the M4 nerfs. Feels like CT side plays with nerf guns vs. T-side now.

I've watched some youtube videos of CSGO and it looks pretty fun/intense. What I don't have a sense of is the learning curve, particularly for someone who's never played an FPS on a PC.

I think it's a bit of an over reaction. The idea was to get more people playing with an M4. My feeling is they need to lower the cost of the M4s a little more and it will be better. Remember they improved the hit boxes, so technically the m4s is as good or better than an Ak in the first 1-3 bullets. It really only affects spraying a hole clip, which is a Nono.

Also, Drewbie you need to add **** to the thread title to make it official :)

When I get to the house I will link a bunch of must know things to optimize the game in console as well as maps you should download to "warmup" with if you play a lot of competitive games. They are very easy to download from the workshop tab in game.

CSGO is the big boy FPS from what I understand, it's the most competitive one out there.

How? AK gets a 1 shot headshot regardless of armor and first shot is always dead accurate from a standstill. The A1-S was already $500 more expensive and only had 60 total bullets. Now it's still $400 more expensive with lower ROF, a bigger spread, and WAY lower armor pen. The rate of fire change was a good one, I think. If they want to make it a gun that specializes in long-ranged combat, that's great. But I don't agree with the armor pen changes. It already didn't have the ability to kill in one shot against head armor. I don't know, I guess I saw the existing balancing factors as good enough before this. I think they changed the wrong gun. Now instead of having one gun on a somewhat level playing field with the AK, the CT's have two AR's that the AK shits on. It's probably just the adjustment period, but I feel so powerless on CT side.

mainly play MM atm. regarding the m4 debate they're balanced. the armor pen was not actually dropped on the m4a1s although the update said it was. valve has said they are going to leave it as is.
the playing field should not be level between t and CT weapons and equipment. almost all of the maps are ct sided.

I limit my playing segments with this game. For some reason I feel like if I'm not wide awake, I can't play CS:GO. If I start feeling droopy, I will instantly quit playing. There have been many times I've wanted to play but wouldn't let myself because I figured I'd perform worse than normal.

I really don't play it as much as I used to. Too many console games came out all at once and I haven't grown tired of them. the struggles of limited time gaming.

Steam ID: usafhart
Name: Totes McGotes
Rank: Gold Nova 4

Really miss PC competitive gaming, console just doesnt do it for me.

Haven't really played pc competitively since CoD4 modern warfare... was pretty big into it then. How much would i have to spend on a rig, to run CS:Go competitively?
