Two of my friends bought an Xbox One recently. I wouldn't mind buying one for the exclusives which seem a lot better than the PS4 exclusives right now.

Forza Horizon 2 and Sunset Overdrive look like great games. There's a bundle with Halo MC Collection for $350.

It's very tempting but I can't help feel like I'm blowing money

Buy the one that you have more friends on. Ps4 is the better pure game system though

Best decision is to go with your friends and you seem to already be leaning towards the One.

I already own a PS4. Most of my friends have at least a PS4.

I agree with this. I tend to lean towards the Playstation because I like single player games more than online. If you are playing online then go where your friends are by far, they are much more fun that way.

It's really about time people stop stating this like it's a fact.

Does the ps4 have the ability to go to 4k graphics?

I didn't realize the xbone has that ability if ever needed till a couple weeks ago.

eta also found out not long ago that apparently there's a lot of other cool shite the xbone is hiding under the hood that isn't being utilized right now.

There are actually some small technical advantages to the PS4, but they are not noticeable. Xbox just took a hit early from it's pre launch because of some bad PR moves. They are pretty much the same machine if we're talking about just playing games.

Agreed. The differences are minimal.

As an aside, the Xbox controller is better for professional gaming.

From what I've read, both systems have the capability to output 4K images and video. However, Microsoft has claimed the Xbox One can output games at 4K. Given the fact that both systems are struggling to output games at 1080p, I have difficulty believing either will have 4K games beyond the simplest of titles.

There are also rumors of hardware revisions coming to both systems to add better support for 4K.

4k gaming right now is a pipe dream on anything outside of PCs and extremely high end PCs. 4k tavs are rocking a 30 hz refresh rate which would just be dumb to try to game on.

PCs at least could get it up to about 60 hz with an expensive rig.

well I'm already in the master race

but 4k gaming on console is the obvious next step for consoles.

so they both supposedly have the capability, but the xbox one is the only one to officially say it has the capability?

true. which makes the xbone having the potential built into it that exceeds what is currently required of it, like 4k graphics, even more curious.

Previous gen had 1080 capabilities but rarely hit it. By the end none of them did.

gotcha. but what happened for last gen may or may not mean something for this gen

like I said above, it's anyone's guess why they've added capabilities to this gen console that exceeds what's currently available.
