How so? Same story, cut scenes (which were a lot better looking), with a few extended ones added and it implemented the "stick em up" mechanic from 2. Kojima had a personal hand in the remake because he wanted to do something special for Nintendo.

The Gamecube seems like one of those consoles no one cared about at the time, but looking bad on it, was a very good gaming machine.
Would've been better if the controller was more suited for the multiplatform titles that did release on the system.

I'm glad I was hip with the times.
And I won't try to defend that controller because I understand why someone would hate it. I just got used to it personally and didn't think anything of it.

I thought the controller was fine for first party titles and third party exclusives. It was also quite comfortable.
Third party games like Tony Hawk, Soul Calibur II, Timesplitters, etc were a lot harder to play on that controller thanks to the oddly shaped face buttons and tiny right analogue stick (c-stick), so I always stuck to the xbox or PS2 for those games.
