The new trend in peasantry

Why are devs capping games at 30FPS. I understand why on consoles, but I have seen it mentioned on 2 or 3 upcoming AAA titles for PC as well. The latest one is Batman Arkham Knights.

There were a few mentioned during E3 but none were games I cared about so I sort of blew it off and I can't think of them right now.

Yea. I think one was the FF remake? Don't press me to think too much. I have a sinus headache from hell.
One was Fallout 4 but Bethseda later clarified that the cap is only for consoles and it's 1080p 30FPS.

Bethesda initially said Fallout 4 was going to be locked at 30 FPS on everything, but they came back later and said they only meant X1 and PS4.

I knew Bethesda misspoke but I considered that nothing more than bad wording. I don't think the FF remake has addressed that. They haven't discussed much about it.

That FF7 remake is probably so far out, we'll probably be discussing it in terms of "per millisecond" by the time it's released.

I'm pretty butthurt that Batman is such a shitty port. Apparently it has way more issues on PC than just the FPS.

Doubt it. It hasn't been announced for any other platforms yet.
But it seems like devs are doing it out of laziness to meet certain QC marks while they work to actually fix issues later.

That's what I hear. They don't have a great history with PC ports because City had issues too. I bet they capped it because of the bad frame rate issues until they can patch it.

From what I can gather, any of the FF ports have been crappy, so it's a safe bet.

Probably. square started doing half arse ports of old games for mobile and pc a couple of years back.
