Refreshed all over and endlessly inventive, Mario is full of surprises in his next 2D adventure. This is as close to a new Super Mario World as we're going to get anytime soon.

quote:

Super Mario Bros. Wonder is a bold choice for a name. It plants a flag in the ground that suggests anything less than a constant sense of awe and delight will be a failure by its own terms. But then, surprisingly, Mario Wonder rises to the challenge and the result is a modern classic.

quote:

Super Mario Bros. Wonder is, as its name suggests, a true marvel. A hilarious platform game that always has us with a smile on our faces and that never ceases to surprise with its countless ideas, with a very creative and unpredictable level design and with mechanics and situations that don't care in the slightest about experimenting.

quote:

Nintendo's latest production still lands in an incredibly high second place, just under Super Mario Bros. 3. If you are a fan of this series, I probably don't even have to convince you to check out the game, but if you haven't had contact with the mustachioed plumber, or with platformers in general, you must try your hand at Super Mario Bros. Wonder. What's more, I believe that this work can convince many people who have been skeptical about the series, because it is so original that it cannot really be said that it is just "another Mario".

This is looking to be a great return to 2D form for Mario.

Haven't used my switch in awhile so this seems like a good reason to pick it back up

I'm excited to play this one. I am hoping I can get my 6 year old daughter into it so she looks at this game like I look at Super Mario World.

Shipped from GameFly today. Looking forward to taking a spin this weekend.

Mrs. Vox and I really enjoyed 3D World together.

Mine just cooled down from two months of Zelda

If you fire it up - try that one as well

My wife is very fickle when it comes to games she likes. This is a good way of not breaking the bank on games that don't end up panning out.

My wife and I play all the time, probably more than my kids. Only thing we haven’t beaten on 3D World is Champions Road and Mystery House Marathon in World Crown. They’re pretty hard

Burned a voucher for this and super Mario rpg.

The favorable comparisons to super Mario world sound great to me.

My Switch gets used by everyone in my house. My oldest and my youngest bond over Kirby games.

Played for a little over an hour last night. Overall a lot of fun. I thought the online mode might be a little annoying, but it's actually kind of nice to see what others are doing and the little bit of help you can give each other.

One of those games that keeps you smiling all the way through. Each stage is super unique, so far and I love that they've kind of themes it out in the beginning.

The Rayman Legends influence is pretty heavy here, which is great to see.

Protip: turn on and connect to online asap.

Absolute pure fun, even playing single-player, seeing other people bouncing around and helping each other out. Even with limited communication, restricted to emotes, it's a ton of fun marking a secret jump, pipe, etc for someone and vice versa.

Hands down the best 2d Mario I've ever played.

I'm enjoying the heck out of it. It's the ideal game to show a young one the ropes of side scrolling platformers. My five year old is starting to be able to keep up with me without slowing me down too much. Lives are plentiful so if they fall behind and die it's NBD. The invulnerable characters make it so much more enjoyable for young kids. At first I was worried it would be too easy for me but the difficulty is starting to ramp up in world 2.

I started playing my own game after the kids went to bed last night. I am really looking forward to start a run through with my 6 year old daughter. I didn't realize that you play at the same time. That will be fun. Also, I saw the note about Yoshi and Nabbit being invulnerable, but it never clicked in my head that it would be good to use for my kid.
