I just wanna see how it feels, being yet another Frostbite 3 game it certainly looks like it feels like a Battlefield game. And if that's the case, I'll pass and wait for BF5 and Frostbite 4 next year.

Yeah I have a feeling that I'll enjoy the Beta, but not enough to buy it. Or maybe I will anyway, just to play something that isn't COD.

It isn't available till 1. Checked. Stayed up till 12 last night thinking the beta was a midnight release like it should be.

How many maps will be available not just in the beta, but in the full game. I've only seen 4 planets, so does that mean only 4 maps (how big?) or multiple maps on each planet?

I think they said there would be 4-6 maps per world.
There will be 3 map modes for the beta. Hoth walker assault. A tattoine survival mode. And drop down on sullust

they should of allowed download last night, to start today at 12pm central.

Should be available on Origin for PC, Xbox Market, and the Playstation Store. They shouldn't hide it as this is an open beta.
