It's one of those things that consumers don't really have much say in. If developers like using it then they will. I guess a big question is if it is worth a shite at all.
Yeah.. totally true.
I tell you what.. nVidia is really develoring IMO. Their "GeForce Experience" software does some very SIMPLE but needed tasks.
Another thing.. If Shield was say, $100-$150 I would probably purchase one. The fact of screaming games from my main rig to my Handheld in "PC Quality" is fckking excited. Makes you think even more about how... confirmation of the last time we see a "console as we know it" is gone after this gen.

Mantle isn't going to be out till December from what I remember.
Yes, with the final driver update for PS4/XBONE launch.
Again.. FrostBite is really just the only known to fully utilize it, which is a small part of the more popular engines.

Damn.. just got a paper cut.
Wait what..? My blood is green? wtf.!
(lmao.. lame)

The only problem I see with shield is that the game selection is terrible. I don't want to pay $250+ for an android game device when I can't stream from my PC.

Mantle isn't going to be in consoles, thats the interesting part. I agree that nvidia is doing some really good stuff though. I feel as if their stuff is a little higher quality but AMD goes the value route which is just fine too.

Yeah, exactly my point.
Bring that down to say.. an expensive controller?
$100-$150 and now we are talking!

This game streaming could be interesting. It could fall flat but i do it to my gamepad on my Wii u and it's pretty clutch. The range is my biggest concern for all this if it's shield, vita, or whatever.

Yes.. Sony and Microsoft are stupid for not letting developers access the core directly. Sounds fckking stupid, but I think I've read it has something to do with security. The driver none the less will have the ability.
Thanks for bringing it up, another talking point from the Montreal 2013 panel.
Console developers NOT supporting Mantle is strike against it.

The range is your home network, right?
So whatever that is. Reason you need a 1gig router for 1080p video.

Microsoft doesn't support it because of directx from what I read, it's competition for them. Also consoles don't need a low level API when they already have low level access.
Vita is claiming to stream out of the home too as long as it access your network remotely I believe. I have my doubts with it and ps fan boys are hyped about streaming classic games but i would want to see it work first. Wii u doesn't use your network, it has some other communication. I need to walk it around my house and see how far i can get.

I do like the idea of streaming, too, once the technology improves. Not interested in paying for a beta.
But those with wives or girlfriends can see the benefit of being able to get up from the computer chair and keep playing.
And I've gotten sick of watching videos about emerging/upcoming releases of PC hardware/driver improvements. They always fall below expectations. I only care about what exists now and whether it works properly. Maybe I've been doing this shite too long.

I'm talking nVidia sheild. You can play 1080p games streamed from your PC to the device. Only under 1gig network connections.

Is that how you add people on Nintendo? Random numbers and not names? I may take my time on link between world. As Badass as it looks I'll probably be playing wind waker a long time

I may be getting a 3ds for Pokemon, but what are some other games for it? I don't want to invest in one just for one game
