So I ran Firestrike. Single 7970 at stock (1050/1375) score 8010 (graphics score). Crossfire scored 13530.

300W TDP. That's the max you can get using the 8 + 6 pin configuration. When they release a dual-290x card, it may use 4 8-pin plugs.

I have 2 7950s so I wasn't really planning on "upgrading" unless it was a really really dramatic increase in performance. I'm not interested in the 290x.
