I assumed this already honestly. That's why you have to check multiple sources.

Exactly. Why would you consult a salesman about his competitor's product?

Bios? If you have an asrock board then just keep hitting delete when you restart and that should get it

It goes straight to "reboot and select proper boot device"

The motherboard screen shows for a split second and then I get this stupid message

I just looked up a sample A+ test online to see how I'd do without studying. It was 80 questions long and I missed 9

But I'm curious. Has the real test been updated in the last 14 fricking years? The practice test I took asked an awful lot about floppy drives, 10Base-T, IDE, PATA, SCSI, single in-line memory, AGP, and referred to Pentium II and III as "today's processors."

literally, the instant you press the power button to turn it on, start pressing the delete key rapidly nonstop until it goes into the bios.

EDIT: NM

Are you motherboard USB slots working? Your case ones probably dont work because the drivers for them arent installed yet

I booted from a flash drive plugged into my case's front USB 3.0 and I have an ASRock. I am thinking he maybe plugged the connector into the wrong place on the mobo

On my Asrock board I had to install with the USB directly into a mobo USB port.
