I probably picked every herb in White Orchard, and now the only time I collect herbs is when they're next to other loot and I accidentally select the herb.

Man, when I figured out exactly what holding the right trigger does when controlling Ciri, changed a lot of my feelings.

She makes Geralt look like a pauper. Basically she's the Wraith mode from Shadow of Mordor on acid. Wish I could play as her the entire game.

Yeah, check your main menu. PCs should be on 1.05 and consoles 1.04.

The quen shield that regenerates your health when you get hit has made this game so much easier to play.

Yeah, I use that against tougher individual foes and the force push thing (Aard?) against groups. Those are the only two signs that I've been upgrading.

:IMPORTANT!:

I can confirm that loot you "store" on the ground does eventually go away. Goodbye useless notes and books, I'll never know if you'll come in handy..until it's too late. :RIP:

I think it cleared when I went past a certain critical point in the game.

So DO NOT store anything on the ground, it will not be there when you go through critical checkpoints in the game.

I'm getting annoyed with dying 3-4 times killing a creature 9 levels above me guarding a treasure only to get shitty armor 20 armor points below my current armor and with less perks.

How about spending way too much time on that sword and dumpling quest and getting a shite sword?

I'm level 17 got a worse sword than my level 14 griffin sword

Same here. Nothing in this game pisses me off more than tryin to skyrim my way up the side of a mountain only to slide all the way back down to where i started

Yes, it does seem like there's a balance issue with red mutagens. Google can provide tips, but it appears that most of the tips for farming them involve cheap loot-meditate-loot exploits. I guess they're intentionally rare since the greater ones raise your attack power 10%, so a skill tree with one of those with the stacked bonuses could make you OP pretty quickly. Then add to that an enhanced oil and stack some attack power runes

It also sucks that the monster specific red mutagens can't be used to craft mutagens, nor can you dismantle them into lesser red mutagens. I have 2 lesser reds and like 5 monster specific reds.

Is the Witcher gear only so good once it's fully upgraded? The basic Ursine gear has less stats and worse armor than the medium gear I bought off a merchant in Novigrad.

I sold my original gear after it became apparent to me that there was no way to upgrade it.

---SPOILERS (?) ABOUT WITCHER ARMOR AND shite---

The Cat school gear seems to be the most powerful. I found all the Griffin school stuff and am currently equipped with all Enhanced Griffin gear. I found and crafted the base feline gear, which is slightly weaker than enhanced Griffin stuff, but when I'm level 20 or whatever the requirement is, I'm going to work on the enhanced feline gear. I've stopped caring about all other gear for the moment because the witcher school gear looks the best and is more than adequately powerful.

However, I am holding on to an insanely powerful Harpy silver sword until I'm a high enough level to equip it.

One think I keep screwing up is I forget that "remove enhancement" means "destroy enhancement" and I have lost many runes due to this.

Horse racing is fuggin fixed, it's rubber band when you are ahead, but not when you are behind.

So people who aren't fanboys. How do you like the game

I keep reading people stating that the quests are so much better than DAI. How?

Same run there bring me that stuff.

White Orchard is no different than the Hinterlands except there are 400 less quests.

I'm having fun but to this point I don't see some monumental difference in the quests.

The game has locked on me several times. In 10 hours, I've probably had to hard reset about 6 times. Don't know if that is a games issue, bad card issue or bad driver issue.

The game looks great but the hair looks like crap. The whole hairworks thing didn't work.

When leaving the first area, Geralt's hair is I assume supposed to be billowing behind his head, instead, it looked like he was wearing a bike helmet.

GTX980 settings maxed on 1080.

I can see the combat turning off some of the rpg crowd because it is far more like an action adventure style than the normal button mashing rpg.

I still run into the middle of trouble a bit too often and almost always lead off by pushing the wrong buttons.

Enough jibber jabber. Back to the game.
