I thought the drops were okay. I have got 310 gear from it. Nightfall has never been a good once you got high lvl since vanilla. Besides the xp buff.

Heroic strikes should drop engrams. Engrams decode based on your light level. Blues and purples have the chance to go up to 300 light. You won't get higher than 300 though.
Nightfall has the chance to drop up to 310 items, with 300 happening a good bit. You only can do that once per week though.

I got a 310 1KYS for my first Nightfall reward after the changed them and haven't gotten shite since. I did get 19 strange coins last week though on one character.
This week's nightfall actually sounds pretty fun. The solar burn with my 318 Spindle/or 316 1KYS with Sleeper or Quillem's Terminus just sounds amazing in there.
I'll probably farm the shite out of it for the Cloak of Taniks too since the boss loot pool shrinks on nightfalls.

I got the maulers last week, but I still haven't gotten the warlock gauntlets from the restorative mind, possibly because that's the worst strike in the game and I usually quit every time I get it though.

Yeah the only one I tried for was the Flayer mantle and I got the void mantle (the one I wanted) on the first nightfall I ran surprisingly. I got the Maulers on the last nightfall run on my third character last week.
I've probably gotten 10 Imago Loops but I hate HC's so I just mark them. Treads Upon Stars is a scout that I've really liked. I also got a DarkBlade helmet (Is that the spite, or is the spite the Fusion rifle?) and that's what made me finally make my titan a month or so ago right after TTK dropped.

Only fusion rifle I've ever used is Telesto. Not really a fan of those otherwise either.
