The build I did had the A8-3870k crossfired with a 6670 gpu. It worked very well but I wouldn't call it a high performance gaming rig by any means. Guy I built for ran skyrim with the HD pack just a shade under ultra with no problems.

It wasn't a "great" build, but on a budget it worked MUCH better than I expected.

Thanks Stout. Bought those sticks of Ram earlier.

I never got a final on which motherboard i should get. Any suggestions? I want one that i could possibly use dual monitors on? (is that the same thing as crossfiring?)

You just need a mobo that will allow you to crossfire cards. Not all of them have the ability. I would get that ASRock Coyote posted earlier for $69. That's a good board and a great price for a budget build.

That board has an FM2 socket. I thought you were switching to a different CPU with AM3+?

Idk im lost on what to do. Idk what an FM2 socket is or what AM3+. I have 300 left to spend. The only thing i have left to buy is the CPU and the Motherboard.

Got any ideas for a mother board and CPU under $300?

Yes. Very much so

I wouldn't even give that second thought. No way I would go dual core.

Get what I posted. That 3570K is the best for the money and tops all the benchmarks. That mobo is great and covers all your future upgrade needs.

I would go with the extreme4 over the extreme3 since it's only $6 more

EDIT: Or he could save $10-20 and go with the 2500k

THIS MOBO is a crazy good deal

Those two don't work together.

That motherboard is a lga1155 (for intel cpus) and the cpu is an AMD so you'll need a FM2 or FM3 mobo (don't know which one)
