If it doesn't get it then it will be close. It's hard to guess on the bf4 specs since we don't know them.

yeah. sucks because that is pretty much the only reason I'm building the rig. I might just pile money and wait awhile after it releases. going to be hard to wait tho.

I have trouble believing crossfired 7950's will struggle with it

Well it's worth noting that amd has trouble with crossfire microstuttering, runts, etc... I did read earlier though that they will be releasing a driver for that at the end of July.

Stop spreading these outdated lies. It was a problem in previous generations of cards, and even then it was isolated to particular games, and monitor setup.

EDIT: I will admit, however, that microstuttering is less of an issue in SLI setups.

Oh yeah, and scaling is an issue in a lot of games.

AMD.

You should be able to play BF4 pretty easily at 1440p w/ xfired 7950s... That's if BF4 is well optimized like BF3

I get around 45-60 on ultra (75+ on high) on 1440p with a single 7950 with no AA in BF3

I play BF3 well over 100 fps I play on the same settings that I used with my 650ti.I don't care how it looks as long as it's smooth. I lock my frames at 66 and haven't seen it drop below that at all. Adding another 7950 for bf4. Can't wait for that and my 144hz monitor.

Gents,

I am looking for critique on this build. I want to thank all of you for your suggestions and teaching me some things about the PC world. This is my first build and totals close to $1300, which was my budget. I am also curious as to the best way to find these parts on sale. I am in no hurry to buy so I can spend the time it takes to find them all quite inexpensively. Suggestions on the build and on how to find parts cheaply would be greatly appreciated.

Well here is a good cpu/mobo combo to go with. I would purchase this if I was in the market

Other than that the build looks good
Also found this
Normally I trust MSI but there are very few reviews on it to know.

No disrespect because I know you have liked your crossfire but many people have disagreed.
This lengthy article lays out many problems.
This article mentions that the problems is being worked out
I saw yesterday that the driver release is looking like July 31

I saw this video on newegg yesterday and skimmed through the three parts as a refresher bc im building a pc next week and I haven't built a computer in 8 years.

Pretty well made instructional video. Goes from like pre kindegarden basics, and brings you up to the middle of highschool of building computers; Everything you need to know to get running.

The same guy makes overview videos for stuff like computer cases and stuff and he hits on like every point that is relevent.

Great video. We usually point new builders to those, one of the most well done video series on youtube.

New builders should also check out linustechtips or ncix on youtube. Hes probably the best on youtube, IMO. Razethew0rld ia also good, but he can get old
