I did a few. There's not really a point to do doing those unless you're just going for completion percentage.

35 hours is almost twice as long as I spent on any Mass Effect game prior to 4. It's not that I like it any better. There are some aspects that are better but a lot that are worse. It's just a long game with a lot to do. Not all of it is worthy of anyone's time.

Lots of folks compared this to DAI but to this point in my play through, there hasn't been a quest that blew me away whereas DAI had at least 1 solid emotional quest.

I like ME4 but as I've said before, all of the criticism is justified.

If you love large quest filled / fetch style games, this is for you. If not, nope.

They did what I hoped they wouldn't do which is use DA:I as the template for Andromeda. I don't think anyone has said the story is particularly good or memorable.

I do think they improved on Inquisition for a gameplay standpoint, and I just enjoy the style of Andromeda as opposed to Inquisition, so a lot of the open world activities were made a lot more palatable in this game.

I'm not a fan of the open world. I thought it hurt the game personally. I'd like to see them get back to their roots

I would disagree. At least in DAI you could clear areas out. I hate how you kill off Ket, Remnants and Exiles and they keep coming back to their little encampments. I want those bastards all cleared out which you could do in Inquisition.

Sounds like you like the combat more which I would agree. DAI was mostly button mashing. Sure ME4 is still button mashing but dodging, jumping and hiding behind cover make it seem less like button mashing.

Something was obviously up when the pre-order was 20% off.

BioWare Montreal Scaled Down, Mass Effect Put On Ice For Now

quote:

BioWare has put Mass Effect on hiatus and turned Andromeda’s developer, BioWare Montreal, into a support studio, according to four sources close to the company. That doesn’t mean there will never be another Mass Effect game, of course. It’s unlikely that BioWare will kill the popular sci-fi franchise. But BioWare is letting Mass Effect sit for a while rather than putting staff on Andromeda’s follow-up right away, those sources said.

I had actually played through ME 1- 3 in preparation for this game. I was excited about it.

Then I read about the terrible glitches, the awful writing and lack of a decent character, the SJW bs, and the racist developer. ME is permanently on ice for me.

Are you surprised? They kinda fricked this game up big time.

What? There may have been only one or two lines about that in the entire game. And it all depends on if you talk to this one nonessential character. And I couldn't care less if the guy was a Nazi as long as he puts out a good game.

the SJW bs
Probably some of the ugliest main female characters in recent history. Certainly didn't display the curves from previous games.

The motivation behind the design of the female characters was pure SJW trash. Manveer (developer) proudly boasted of this and his hatred of Caucasians.

Their lead animator was a cosplayer...no animation background, just cosplaying.

The entire thing was a giant cluster.

Blah blah blah

The real reason the series is on ice is because they failed to present an engaging game. Too much open world nonsense killed any story based momentum.

When your focus is on making statements instead of good games, this is the result.

So one developer = the entire focus of the game. Got it.

I don't hate the game itself. I haven't finished the main plot yet but to the point I have hit, there hasn't been a major quest that I felt to be in peril and constantly under pressure.

Nothing like the stress of some of the other games. I don't mind the open world but they need to have some tight main quests and they don't.

I've probably played 80 hours so I don't hate it but I can understand all of the complaints.

They shot themselves in the foot. They wanted a big open world but the lost the emotional impact which was in all 3 of the earlier games.

Also the whole graphical mess, they must have known about it. Hell, the first patch fixed most of the problems which means, they were working on the patch long before game release. They should have delayed the release. They didn't and I can guarantee they lost a big pile of money from the constant mocking reviews.
