You haven't played Horizon: Zero Dawn then.

I'm still trying to figure out how the same BoTW game I played is considered a GOTY contender. I am apparently in the very small minority so I accept that I may be wrong.

I enjoyed the game, but I just feel like missed on a lot of levels.

It is close at first glance but Horizon used the same themes . I felt as if nothing was new, but an awesome game.

I've only played a few games this year. HZD is #1 for me since I haven't played BoTW, then D2. These next few months are gonna be expensive and fun. Looking forward to Wolfenstein 2, God of War, and Middle Earth.

For me it was Nioh.

I'm not a big fan of shooters and Nioh is the best non-shooter game this year by far.

I'm guessing Breath of the Wild would be a strong contender had I played it. I'm sure it's awesome, just haven't played it yet.

gtfo

Nioh was a fine game, but I was very letdown by it after playing all the beta demos. the story just sucked and I didn't like the mission format. the loot system was also quite the drag

more Automata porn

BotW for sure. One of the best games I've ever played.

You've never heard of Zelda? Did you just wake up from a 35 year coma or something?

I don't see how you cant call PUBG the best game of the year.

I'm pretty certain every gaming critic would disagree with you.

By that logic, Avatar is the greatest film of all time.

Look I know your love for games like PUBG and it looks to be one of the best of the genre, but because streamers like it doesn't make it the GOTY, it builds on it predecessors and tweaks and improves on stuff, but it's not ground breaking.

CSGO

Month Avg. Players Gain % Gain Peak Players
Last 30 Days 357,993.6 -16,432.1 -4.39% 665,371

How long has CSGO been out?

And it wasn't. It was a shitty movie that ripped off tons that came before it and simply used technology as a crutch. I think by all standards, The Hurt Locker, Inglourious Basterds, Up, District 9, and The Fantastic Mr. Fox were better films. Granted it was a shitty year for films given that Avatar was nominated, but there's no rational argument for it being better than Inglourious Basterds.

I had to google PUBG, and even after that, I'd still never heard of the game.

if it makes him feel any better, every time I see it in a thread, or see the thread that is fairly active on the GB, I think of this:
