True, but at least work is a more valid reason to spend more time with. Videogames, not so much

I allowed games to be part of the reason why I fricked up early in college.

Games are no different than any form of alternate reality entertainment including drugs and alcohol.

Some people will abuse the hell out of them, some will use them in moderation and some won't use them at all.

Games can be a good distraction in bad times but they can also wreck your life if you have an addictive personality.

Beware MMORPGS!

Most definitely. I spent a lot of my teenage years in front of a monitor playing MMOs to get away from the divorce of my parents. I was stuck in the middle of it and gaming was my only reprieve. I could hop online and have a good time without worrying about anyone asking me about my parents. And by the time things smoothed out, I was just hooked. Super fat and antisocial, my online friends became my closest friends. I could spend 10 hours a day in ventrilo with them, cutting up and joking, and not have to worry bout them making fun of my weight or anything. Now that I'm older and lost a ton of weight and life is generally really great, I find myself playing games a lot less.. Hell, my PC at home has been off for 4 days now.

I have also seen video games cause divorces as well, so it's always important to find that happy medium.

Jeesh. Person must have had a very addictive personality or the SO must have been super controlling. (or both )
