I literally threw my controller down after I was forced to shoot possessed trash cans. Utterly stupid, boring game.

I really liked Dead Space 3. It got alot of hate, but it was still a fun space thriller. It wasn't quite the horror you experienced in 1 or 2, but still a good game. Besides they couldn't go on making the same game over and over...right?

[MGSV is] definitely not a tactical espionage game.
I'm still pretty early in the game but I don't understand this complaint. The game feels more tactical to me than any previous Metal Gear game and the number of options at your disposal for infiltrating a base still surprises me. The game also encourages you to change up your tactics by the enemies gradually getting gear to counter what you've done previously.

Perhaps I'll feel differently once I finish the entire game but I'm surprised by the number of people here who think MGSV is awful. I feel like I must be missing something.

Greatly disliked Alan Wake. Tedious, tired gameplay mechanics, awful supporting characters, and a very mediocre script
I forgot about this one. All of my friends raved about it but I had to force myself to finish it. I enjoyed the tone of the game but the combat got so tiresome. It definitely needed way more enemy variety. Shooting evil inanimate objects and possesed lumber jacks is only entertaining for so long.

Dead Space 3 was a fine game up until the very end. they threw so many fricking enemies at you at once that it was absurd

Disliked: Earthbound. Required grinding is a design flaw, imo, and I don't see how you progress to the end of this game without doing that. If the combat was more engaging I probably wouldn't care as much but the game's quirky sense of humor isn't enough for me.

Most RPGs require some grinding, especially the older ones. The humor was hit or miss and is definitely aimed at a younger crowd. Nevertheless, Earthbound is a VERY good game, but the sequel Mother 3 is even better.

I'm not a big fan of Sonic games, any of the ones that I have played...but, I know I'm in the minority. Same goes for any first person shooter, and that seems like all there is now.

I rather enjoyed Mass Effect 3 which counts as a contrarian opinion in these parts.

I used to hate any CoD/Battlefield games pre-XB1. Just couldn't get into them as I was a halo fan and didn't care to learn.

Which leads me into CoD Ghosts. I liked it
There were next to no games available at launch, so I picked it up and enjoyed it. That may have been from lack of games, or lack of knowledge of the previous versions, but I still found it entertaining.

Disliked:
Halo - Just boring. 2 was slightly better. I like Guardians, but it's still so blah. There are a dozen better franchises than Halo. I'm assuming I missed out on the LAN Parties.
World of Warcraft - I've played every major MMO for at least a few months. I played this for a week and disliked it enough to never play again.
God of War - The pinnacle of games built to be "edgy," just for edgyness sake. And Kratos might be the most emo video game character ever.

Liked:
Final Fantasy VIII - I think it might be a better experience, not game, than VII.
Fifa Street - Yeah the production values were terrible, but I thought it was a fun iteration of soccer. Granted, I like soccer games anyway.
Secret of Evermore - Not hated, but disliked. I think it's vastly underrated.

I'm aware, though that's more a trope of JRPG's than western RPG's. There just isn't enough in Earthbound to keep me with it, story or gameplay-wise. I'm cool with it, though. Maybe I'll give it another shot one day.

You know, the further I get away from the Sonic games the more I've come to think that they were never that good, and this is coming from someone who used to be a hardcore Sega fan. The game design feels like it's at odds with itself. The levels encourage you to go fast but you are repeatedly punished for it by enemies you can't see coming until you've already run into them. And the times when you are truly going fast Sonic is typically inside a series of pipes and loops that you have no control over. Style over substance.

Super Mario Sunshine has caught a lot of shite from people but it's still my favorite 3D Mario game

Definitely not my favorite. Was a very frustrating game if I remember correctly. But when I wasn't pissed at it, it was pretty fun. I rented it from some video store that closed down so I just wound up keeping it

I liked it (not as much as 2), but I'm a crazy Mass Effect lover. My favorite series.

I didn't hate ME3 nearly as much as most people. Up until the ending, it was an amazing game to me. When they released the free DLC that added more closure to the ending, it was just below ME2 for me.
