Bought PS3 game today. Gamestop rep says,
"Man you need to get a PS4 so you can play all the new games!"
I wanted to ask him if he realized his fricking company sold Super Nintendo games on their website.

A guy trying to sell you shite at a shop set you off? I'm not the biggest fan of Gamestop but that's pretty common.

I walk into a video game store to buy a video game. They work for a company that sells Sega Genesis games all the way through to current gen. Why automatically assume I don't own a PS4 just because I bought a PS3 game? If I bought a Gameboy Color game, would they try to sell me a 3DS?
Does he not realize that especially these days, people play video games irrespective of the date they were released?
Even so, how is telling me I can play "new games" on the "new system" selling me anything? No shite the new games are released on the newest consoles.
I need to buy more games off Amazon Prime, but I feel guilty every time I ship a package to my office.

GameStop I used to go to had a guy that tried to convince me to trade in my Xbox One for a PS4 almost every time I went in. I eventually just asked him "Why would I downgrade to a system with worse graphics?"
I thought he was going to have a stroke.

This was thing I hated most about gamestop
If I ever go to a store to buy anything related to games I just go to bestbuy.

For a while I hated on gamestop. It bothers me when companies try to force old models rather than adapt.
Every game i have is digital and it is awesome. I have no clue why someone would want a physical disc. Gamestop stance made me look forward to the day they go out of business so i could laugh.
I softened though when they gave me a free copy of a game (that i gave away because it was a disc) and a controller for getting the elite bundle. Still it would have probably come out about the same had i ordered off amazon, no tax and all

I don't get the whole preordering thing when the day it is released you can walk in to any store that sells video games and get a copy.

I don't know if that's always true. Both local Gamestops only received enough copies of Dragonball Xenoverse to cover pre-orders and nothing more. Got lucky with 1 out of 3 Wal Mart stores having it in stock. The other two hadn't even put it on display yet.
My Gamestop also seems to hate the Wii U. I never see new Wii U titles for sale or behind the counter like you see PS4 and Xbox One.

That's because they don't sell as much, less consumers less stock.
