just got it on the PS4 cuz it was 20 bucks. i have no idea what im getting myself into. I've just heard nothing but good things about it and it was 20 bucks so i copped it. So far im just running around picking shite up and then i crushed some dudes in a power suit.

Do the conversation answers actually matter?
Whats the best perk line up/attribute distribution?
Should i wait until i get good weapons/armor to upgrade them or just jump right in? What even are the good weapons and armors?
And most importantly can i get rid of this dog and replace it with a cat? TIA

Acquiring good weapons and armor will be based on your level. The higher you go in level, the more you'll run across better gear whenever you loot a chest or an enemy. Also you can join certain factions such as The Railroad or the BOS (Brotherhood of Steel) and get some good gear from doing their quests.

"Gun Nut" is a very good perk to invest in if you're looking to improve your weapons (guns, lasers, etc). "Armorer" is another good perk which will improve your armor. You'll need to have access to an armor and weapon work bench to make any improvements to your armor and weapons.

As far as armor choices...

- Leather
- Metal
- Combat Armor

Leather armor offers superior protection against energy damage (energy weapons) but it doesn't protect very well against ballistic damage (guns).

Metal armor offers superior protection against ballistic damage, but again, it lacks protection against energy weapons.

Combat armor offers good protection against ballistic and energy damage. The armor kind of falls between Leather and Metal armor.

Of course you can always run around in power armor if that's what you like, but PA never appealed to me, I very rarely use it, because I play stealth characters, I have no use for it.

I just finished this game the other day with all trophies in the main game, including platinum, all trophies in the Mechanist and Far Harbor, and all but two in Nuka World. Finished at level 93. Its my proudest accomplishment so far on PS4.

I was gonna tell you what to do... But I just can't bring myself to help someone who willingly chooses a cat over a dog.

Next thing we know, you're gonna say Pepsi is amazing. Or say soda pop.

i will never say pepsi is amazing nor say soda pop. neither will i call a water fountain a bubbler (shout out to wisconsin)

but i will say that crunchy cheetos are far superior to puffy ones and i say buggies instead of shopping carts

You can actually get a cat in some of your settlements. I had one in Covenant.

I think there's a mod that you can download from Bethesda that'll add more cats to your game, but you can't replace dogmeat with a cat. For frick sake

LINK

You'll have to register to view mods.

Its just a pet that hangs out. You can also get a dog (not Dogmeat) and a gorilla.

A kid down the street from me has 20 or so cats in one of his settlements, but he plays on xbone. Xbone mod's are a lot better than ps4's due in large part to Sony's restrictions.

Yes, depending on what style of play and faction you chose to support.

for your first and probably only play through a good mix, with high intelligence is best.

There is no shortage of crap to scrap and upgrade. upgrading also gives you xp, so go ahead. there is power armor all throughout the commonwealth, so dont be shy.

No but you can get a girl and bang her.

Everyone plays Fallout a little differently. What one person finds crucial someone else might think its useless. One problem with FO4 is that the game already assumes you know what perks you want to take, this is why I've started over a few times already. Luck has some great perks, but my favorite is Blitz on a melee character, combined with Blacksmith and Big Leagues. Find perks that go well together.

Upgrade weapons and armor that you use as soon as you can.

Settlements are useless, don't even bother unless its ones for the main quest.
