Convince me to play "The Last of Us"

I bought a PS4 about a month ago and it came with "The Last of Us". I've heard that this game is awesome, but I'm really not naturally drawn to it. My old roommate played it while we still lived together and he liked it, but I just don't know if it's my cup of tea.
I played for like ten minutes the other day and lost interest that quick. I know it's resumé of awards and have heard people talk about the game.
I usually always check out the highly regarded games and I'm looking for some input that will get me interested to play and finish this game.

I used to solely play multiplayer games but LOU seriously changed my perspective on gaming. That story is fricking amazing.

I was playing it when my grandmother walked in she sat and watched me play it for like three hours. She said "oooh this is a good show, I like this". She's nearly 80 and thinks it's awesome so yeah Play it.

Don't need to convince you.
Either you'll love the game or think it was alright.
Very few people I've seen legitimately think it's a bad game.

it's ok. not a big fan of it. I lost interest at the beginning and quit playing. started again when I got it on ps4 + new 60" tv and lost interest again at bills town. probably go back and try to finish it at some point, but I'm in no rush.
