Game is fun.
My Mongolian war effort failed in spectacular fashion last night. Hiawatha informs me Venice is plotting against me. So I attack venice.. Pisses off the 6 other civs and everyone declares war on me. then hiwatha does too 5 turns later just because.
happiness plummets, rebels break out,gold dries up...
i really suck at civ5 politics. I shoulda secured hiawatha as an ally

Well at least you are playing to the strengths of Mongolia. I've had friends play with me and end up with a warrior civilization and then try to go for tech victories

My only issue with the game is how easy it is to be labeled a warmonger. The Spanish attacked me after we had peace for several eras out of the blue and took one of my less fortified cities because i couldn't get defenses there in time. Well, I get my military to my city and after the second wave of attacks, they try and call for peace. lol no. I took my city back then invaded Spain, took over and razed two of their bigger cities. Then I made them give me almost all of their gold and oil.
Never had any problems from Spain after that but damn if France and the Zulu weren't pissed at me.
I know betrayals happen a lot in Civ but if someone betrays me I'm going to make them feel it and regret it forever

I'm the same way. The computer likes to do that "can we pass through your borders thing" and then declare war. When that happens you bet I'm breaking their shite off until they think twice about it the next time. Sure enough, the CPU I do that to gets along with me just fine after that but his allies start denouncing me left and right.

I hold a grudge like no one else on Civ.
