There's always something about a Central Grocery muff that makes it seem like the best.

Bosco's on the Northshore. Like the previous poster said, there's something about Central Grocery's that I still prefer.

Y'all are going to kill me, but the best muffuletta I've ever had was at the Jason's Deli at Brookwood Mall in Birmingham, AL about seven years ago.

The franchise owner grew up in and had worked in the restaurant business in New Orleans for most of his life. The muff at his Jason's Deli was not the kind you could get at any of the other locations.

I am a muff aficionado and have to say Come Back Inn on W. Metairie close to the Kenner line is the best.

Have tasted touristy muff, seafood joint muff and Italian store muff - this is Top Muff.

It's served warm, but ask for the olive salad on the side.

Then apply it liberally after you peel that muff bread away with the cheese stretching out.

It is a hidden gem.

Also super pissed Nor-Joes started a muff fest when theirs is average at best.

For a new twist on muff, try the Frenchaletta at Liuzza's.

I like it on French bread as I just don't care much for muffuletta bread. And I like them warm too.

Nor Joe's is not a bad muffaletta these days lately. In fact not fifteen minutes ago on the way home from mass I almost stopped in there for a muffaletta to enjoy during the game tonight.
